The ShowRoom Cinemas Launches Festive Favorites Series with Holiday Classics for All

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The ShowRoom Cinemas is excited to present its Festive Favorites series, beginning Tuesday, December 12, 2024, with a selection of holiday films sure to delight audiences of all ages. From chilling thrills to heartwarming family fun, these timeless classics are perfect for the season.

The series opens on December 12th at 7:30pm with a 50th anniversary screening of Black Christmas (1974). This groundbreaking slasher film follows a group of sorority sisters whose holiday celebrations take a dark turn when a mysterious killer begins to stalk them. Directed by Bob Clark, the film stars Andrea Martin, Bob Clark, John Saxon, Marian Waldman, and Olivia Hussey.

On Sunday, December 15th at 3:00pm, Bob Clark’s A Christmas Story (1983) brings humor and nostalgia to the screen. Young Ralphie Parker dreams of getting a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas, despite warnings from everyone around him that “You’ll shoot your eye out!" Directed by Bob Clark, the film stars Darren McGavin, Ian Petrella, Jean Shepherd, Melinda Dillon, and Peter Billingsley.

On Thursday, December 19th at 7:30pm catch a special screening of Miracle on 34th Street (1947). This uplifting holiday classic tells the story of a kind-hearted man who claims to be Santa Claus and the little girl who learns to believe in him. Directed by George Seaton, the film stars Edmund Gwenn, John Payne, Maureen O'Hara, Natalie Wood, and Porter Hall. Proceeds from this screening will benefit The Center in Asbury Park, a local nonprofit supporting individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

The series concludes on Sunday, December 22nd at 3:00pm, with Elf (2003), which offers a hilarious and heartwarming journey with Buddy, a human raised by elves, who ventures to New York City to find his father and spread holiday cheer in his own unique way. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film stars Bob Newhart, Ed Asner, James Caan, Mary Steenburgen, and Will Ferrell.
