NJPAC presents CeCe Winans

originally published: 12/08/2024

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Only a few days before Christmas, CeCe Winans will light up your holiday with joyful music at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC). The 12-time GRAMMY® winner will perform in Newark on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 8:00pm and Saturday, December 21 at 8:00pm. She will be joined on the bill by special guests Roman Collins and Debbie Winans.

CeCe is the shining star atop the glittering tree of gospel. It’s impossible to count all the songs she’s gifted to us over the years: “Count on Me” from Waiting to Exhale, “Alabaster Box” and “Goodness of God” are just a few. And there’s nothing like her renditions of your favorite Christmas songs. Rejoice and feel the glory of this special time of year. Roman Collins will open the show.

Winans recently released new Christmas music under the title Joyful, Joyful: A Christmas Album, a reimagined and expanded version of her previous holiday release, Something’s Happening!

Known for her timeless voice and heartfelt performances, CeCe brings her signature warmth and soul to a collection of classic holiday favorites and original songs that are sure to become part of your holiday tradition.

“Christmas is such a special time, and I wanted this music to capture the joy, love, and hope the season brings. I hope these songs remind everyone of the true meaning of Christmas and fill their hearts with peace and celebration,” says Winans.

This special edition, produced by Winans’ talented son, Alvin Love III, offers a fresh take on familiar Christmas classics. Standout tracks like “Joy To The World” and “It’s Christmas” are symphonic masterpieces, while Love also contributed five original songs. His compositions seamlessly blend reverence with joy, capturing the true essence of the holiday season.

Tickets for the performances at NJPAC range from $49.50-$129.50 and are available for purchase online. New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) is located at One Center Street in Newark, New Jersey.

Come early for a free liturgical dance prelude by DEW Ministries on Friday, December 21, at 7:00pm before the show. Special thank you to Trinity & St. Philip’s Cathedral of Newark for providing a practice space for their prelude performers.
