Art Against Racism and Princeton Makes Day of Artful Joy on Saturday

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Art Against Racism is partnering with Princeton Makes, a Princeton-based artist cooperative, to present a Day of Artful Joy on Saturday, November 23, 2024.  It will be a day of creativity and fun celebrating International Art and Health Month.  These events are part of Arts and Health Mercer sponsored by Mercer County art and cultural organizations and will be held at Princeton Makes, located in the Princeton Shopping Center.

Lovey Monsters Beginners Sewing Class for Kids  10:00 am– 10:45am | Ronah Harris, an artist and the creator of Lovey Monsters, will lead a beginner's sewing workshop for kids. In this workshop, you will be able to unleash your imagination and craft your very own adorable monster stuffy. To enjoy this perfect blend of creativity and fluffiness you only need to purchase the Monster Lovey kit available for $12.50.

Baby and Child Happy Storytime with Mary Lundquist  11:00am – 12:00pm | Mary Lundquist, a Princeton-based children’s book author and illustrator, will be hosting a story-time activity at Princeton Makes Artist Cooperative. She will read her picture books and invite guests to draw with her afterward. The event is free and open to the public. Signed books will be available for purchase. The event is Free.

Holiday Card Making with Danyelle Kessler 12:30pm – 2:00pm | Artisan card maker Danyelle Kessler will teach children and adults how to make unique and fabulous greeting cards. Art Against Racism is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to use the arts to educate individuals and communities about racism and to provide opportunities to create a healthier planet and a more just society.

Princeton Makes is a cooperative comprised of 37 local artists who work across a range of artistic genres, including painting, drawing, stained glass, sculpture, textiles, and jewelry. Customers will be able to support local artists by shopping for a wide variety of art, including large paintings, prints, custom-made greeting cards, stained glass lamps and window hangings, jewelry in a variety of designs and patterns, and more.

The Gallery on Grant to Hold Opening Reception for "Enduring Spirit" on July 12th

(DEAL PARK, NJ) -- The Gallery on Grant will host an opening reception for its new art show, "Enduring Spirit," on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 6:15pm-7:30pm in the gallery, which is located inside the Axelrod Performing Arts Center. "Enduring Spirit" showcases two artists: the paintings of Toby Bergman and the sculptures of Bunnye Levi. Bergman will also give a brief discussion of her art at the reception.
