WHYY to celebrate 70th anniversary with All Creatures Great and Small Pet Fest at Peddler's Village with Jennifer Lynn

(LAHASKA, PA) -- Greater Philadelphia public media station WHYY is thrilled to celebrate its 70th Anniversary with a special event, the All Creatures Pet Fest with Morning Edition Host and Producer Jennifer Lynn, taking place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 12:00pm to 3:30pm. This family-friendly fall event invites pet lovers and their pets to join the festivities while celebrating the PBS series All Creatures Great and Small. The event will take place at Peddler's Village, at 100 Peddlers Village/ Rt. 202 and 265, in Lahaska, PA.

Festivities will include ask-a-vet, pet costume contest, adoptions, giveaways, pet themed vendors and other surprises. Tickets are $10 for adults and kids under 12 are no charge with purchase of an adult tickets. Tickets are available for purchase online and will also be available the day of the event.

“All Creatures Great & Small is one of our most popular programs so we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate WHYY’s 70th anniversary than by bringing animal lovers together to celebrate the joy of pet companionship, learn about local pet resources and get excited about the upcoming All Creatures Great and Small season,” said WHYY President & CEO Bill Marrazzo.

The All Creatures Pet Fest promises a day filled with activities for the whole family, including beloved pets. The event will feature a pavilion showcasing local pet businesses, an ask-a-vet clinic, an adoption fair and various opportunities for grooming tips and products. Attendees can also participate in a pet costume contest and capture memories at the professional pet photo booth. Doors open at Noon, with ask-a-vet at 1:00pm, costume contest at 2:00pm and vet photos, adoptions, giveaways and vendors Noon to 3:30pm.

Important event rules:

* Attendees must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by an adult.

* WHYY RTR to refuse entry to any aggressive or obviously ill animals.

* Pets must be kept on a non-retractable leash or a locked 6’ maximum lead and must not be left unattended.

* Non-exotic pets must remain in secure enclosures.

* Attendees must clean up after their pets and ensure pets are up to date on vaccinations.
