2) SONIC Drive-In to Open in Berlin Township on Monday, July 22nd - (WEST BERLIN, NJ)  /PRNewswire/ -- SONIC® Drive-In  announced the opening of their new Berlin Township restaurant in West Berlin at 299 NJ-73 N. A Buffalo Wild Wings GO location will also open on the site later this year.
3) PHOTOS from "Cats" at Algonquin Arts Theatre - (MANASQUAN, NJ) -- Algonquin Arts Theatre presents Cats from July 13-28, 2024. The classic musical features Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and is based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot. 4) Jersey Arts TV: Million Dollar Quartet Rocks the Bell Theater - Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. Put them all together and what do you get?
You get the Million Dollar Quartet, an impromptu jam session recorded on December 4th of 1956, now regarded as a seminal moment in rock and roll history. It makes sense that Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux thought to craft it as a jukebox musical. The two are responsible for writing the book while the music and lyrics come straight from that historic jam session.
5) American Dream wants you to "Party Like a Sponge" in celebration of SpongeBob Squarepants' 25th Anniversary - (EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ) -- American Dream invites everyone to come Party Like a Sponge in celebration of SpongeBob SquarePants' 25th Anniversary, now through August 2, 2024. Guests will be immersed in a world of SpongeBob activities as a portion of the largest indoor theme park in the Western Hemisphere transforms into Bikini Bottom.
6) NJ Rep to Hold Auditions for 2025 Season - (LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company will hold auditions for their 2025 season on Monday, August 5 and Tuesday, August 6 for the 2025 season by appointment only. No walk-ins please. Auditions will be held at New Jersey Repertory Company’s West End Arts Center (132 West End Avenue) in Long Branch, NJ. Free parking and entrance to the building is in the parking lot off of Sairs Avenue.
7) Seeing Alanis Morissette in Concert - A Night to Remember - I've been wanting to see Alanis Morissette in concert for YEARS. Having been a fan of her music since the beginning, every time she stopped in New Jersey, I had a conflict. Except one time, where I actually had tickets but there was a huge thunderstorm so the event was cancelled.
8) Heart of the City Festival Returns to Rahway, Showcasing Local Black and Brown Talent - (RAHWAY, NJ) -- The 2024 Heart of the City Festival is set to captivate the Rahway community once again on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. Under the coordination of Rahway local, Parisse Dawkins, the Heart of the City Festival aims to shine a spotlight on the immense talent of the local Black and Brown community in the New Jersey area, with a special emphasis on Rahway creatives.
9) NJPAC Announces Lineup for 2024 Sounds of the City FREE Concerts - (NEWARK, NJ) -- Experience an amazing lineup of diverse artists under the stars this summer at New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) for exciting, FREE concerts during the Horizon Sounds of the City series every Thursday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. The series unites Newark's cultural diversity by bringing together residents, workers, and visitors for unforgettable evenings of great music, food, and fun. This year's  lineup includes Brazilian percussionist Cyro Baptista, Afrobeat singer and artist Kofi Kinaata, New Orleans funk band Galactic f. Jelly Joseph, rap icon KRS-One, and New Orleans bounce singer Big Freedia. Some performances will also showcase a guest poet from Dodge Poetry, as well as local opening talent and NJPAC's student performers.
10) A Conversation with Graham Gouldman Who Performs with 10cc at NJ's Ocean City Music Pier on July 29 - One of the most inventive bands in pop music, 10cc, will perform live on Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Ocean City Music Pier in Ocean City, NJ. The band's 2024 Ultimate, Ultimate Greatest Hits Tour is the group's first in over three decades.
11) Haddon Township presents Summer of Love - 60s, 70s, & 80s Music Festival on August 24th - (HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- Eddie Berner, of the iconic band A Flock of Seagulls, will perform along with a lineup of stellar musicians from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, at Haddon Township's Summer of Love—60s, 70s, & 80s Music Festival. Held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 2:00pm-10:00pm at Haddon Square (along Haddon Avenue between Strawbridge and Cooper Street), Summer of Love is a groovy festival featuring music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
12) PEAK Performances at Montclair State University Announces 2024-25 Season - (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- PEAK Performances at Montclair State University, which develops, produces, and presents world-class professional live performances that connect communities across Montclair and surrounding areas, has announced its 2024-25 season, bringing a diversity of genres and forms to the Alexander Kasser Theater.
13) PHOTOS from "Footloose" at Surflight Theatre - (BEACH HAVEN, NJ) -- Surflight Theatre is presenting the musical, Footloose from July 9-28, 2024. Based on the classic 80s film, the play follows big-city teenager, Ren, relocates from Chicago to the small rural town of Bomont, where its inhabitants have imposed an unjust ban on Rock 'n' Roll and dancing. 14) Bergen County Announces Return of Summer Movies & Concerts in the Park - Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Board of County Commissioners, and the County Parks Department announce the return of the Bergen County Movies and Music in the Park Summer Series. The series will feature 24 events at four locations across Bergen County beginning on July 10, 2024. All concerts and movies are free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets for viewing.
15) The World's Tallest Moving Statue to be Created at American Dream - (EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ) -- The Giant Company Attractions Limited (Dublin, Ireland) and American Dream have announced a partnership to develop the world's first Giant visitor attraction called "The Giant" at American Dream. The anticipated opening is scheduled for January 2025.
