2024 Hoboken Spring Arts & Music Festival to take place on Sunday

(HOBOKEN, NJ) -- The 2024 Hoboken Spring Arts & Music Festival will take place on Sunday, May 19 from 11:00am to 6:00pm. It takes place on Washington Street between Observer Highway and Seventh Street. The free festival features displays and sales by over 250 artists, crafters, food vendors, and local businesses.

There will also be two stages of live musical performances located on Washington Street between Newark Street and Observer Highway and on Washington Street between Sixth Street and Seventh Street.  Accessible restrooms will be located near the main stage on Observer Highway as well as on Washington Street and Third Street.

The Seventh Street Stage’s musical line-up is as follows:

12:15pm - 12:25pm - All Saints Bold Dancers: All Saints students will perform a dance routine

12:30pm - 12:40pm - Arya Dance Company: Arya students will perform a Bollywood dance routine

12:55pm - 1:15pm - Drum Den: Students of this Hoboken drum school will show their skills

1:25pm - 1:50pm - Dream Boys: Hoboken’s own boy band

2:10pm - 3:10pm - Zydeco Revelators: Cajun country boogie by Hudson County’s own Zydeco band

3:30pm - 4:30pm - The Brooklyners: Reggae music from Brooklyn to the world

5:00pm - 6:00pm - The Ebony Hillbillies: The real roots of country music, played by one of the last Black String Bands in America.

The Observer Highway Stage’s musical line up is as follows

12:00pm - 12:30pm - 3 Dollars: High school rockers

(MONMOUTH JUNCTION, NJ) -- On Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 2:00pm, Historian Guy Weston will be presenting Timbuctoo: NJ's Free Black Community Before the Civil War at the South Brunswick Senior Center. Timbuctoo was settled in 1826 by formerly enslaved and free Black people with the assistance of Quakers. Most Timbuctoo residents owned their land, and the community established their own school and an AME Zion Church.
