It's been 20 years since the release of dorkrockcorkrod by The Ergs! - one of the most popular and influential punk bands to come out of New Jersey. That was the first full length release on Don Giovanni Records and the label has announced a definitive deluxe edition of the album to celebrate the anniversary. A 2xLP set includes new artwork, unreleased photos, an exhaustive oral history compiled by Mike Faloon, the original album remastered by Justin Perkins, and a remix by Steve Albini overseen by Mike Yannich.
The album received great reviews from such outlets as Rolling Stone who said it was one of "The 50 Greatest Pop-Punk Albums." David Anthony of The A.V. Club said, "Dorkrockcorkrod offers introspection while still cracking a smile, serving as a distillation of pop-punk’s range and scope. The three-song suite of “Most Violent Rap Group,” “Pray For Rain,” and “Saturday Night Crap-O-Rama” may be one of the best triple plays in all of rock music, let alone pop-punk."

The Ergs! are an American punk rock band formed in 2000 in South Amboy, New Jersey, by three high school friends: drummer/lead vocalist Mikey Erg (Mike Yannich), guitarist/vocalist Jeff Erg (Jeff Schroeck), and bassist Joey Erg (Joe Keller). Through touring and recording the Ergs! became recognized on a national and international level, touring and playing with such noted acts as The Bouncing Souls, Lifetime, Less Than Jake, The Loved Ones, The Gaslight Anthem, Dillinger Four, None More Black, The Explosion, Municipal Waste, Lemuria, and more.
The band also announced a series of 20th anniversary shows. They will be at the Crystal Ballroom at Somerville Theatre in Somerville, MA on Thursday, July 18th; Ottobar in Baltimore, MD on Saturday, July 20th; and Ukie Club in Philadelphia, PA on Sunday, July 21st. All shows are with Egghead and Boris the Sprinkler.
