Hudson Theatre Works Opens Season With Early Pinter Masterpieces (WEEHAWKEN, NJ) -- Hudson Theatre Works kicks open its 11th Season with a double bill of one-acts by Harold Pinter, one of Britain's most influential modern dramatists. PINTER x 2 features two of Pinter's early works: The Dumb Waiter and The Lover. Like in all of Pinter's plays, seemingly ordinary events become charged with profound (though ever-elusive) meaning, haunting pathos, and wild comedy. Performances take place weekends from November 2-19, 2023.
MAC Players present "Guys and Dolls" (MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The MAC Players at the Middletown Arts Center present the oddball romantic comedy, Guys and Dolls, a Musical Fable of Broadway, from October 20-29, 2023. Set in Damon Runyon's mythical, 1950's New York City, Guys and Dolls follows a rowdy bunch of gamblers, gangsters and sassy showgirls in a wild game of chance—then love sneaks in!
Skyline Theatre Company Presents "A 'Nightmare' On Broadway" (BLOOMFIELD, NJ) -- Skyline Theatre Company, a 20-year-old professional theatre company previously calling Bergen County its home, will continue its 2023 season in Bloomfield on Sunday, October 29 at 4:00pm with a one-performance-only Broadway musical tribute to all things Halloween in A 'Nightmare' On Broadway at the Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center.

Springsteen Archives Announces New Building at Monmouth University (WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- On October 18, 2023, the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University announced a new 30,000 square foot building to house the Archives, the Center for American Music, related exhibition galleries, and a 230 seat, state-of-the-art theater.
Vince Herman Band to Play Roy's Hall (BLAIRSTOWN, NJ) -- Vince Herman is out to have some fun. 33 years after founding Leftover Salmon, Vince released an album of his own and hit the road to play a batch of songs developed in his new Nashville home. It's a bit of a departure from the "Salmon sound" as he digs into his idea of what country music is. There’s some bluegrass and Cajun influences and honky tonk ballads all piled atop great players taking the tunes for a ride.
State Theatre presents The Head and The Heart (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents The Head And The Heart on Saturday, November 3, 2023 at 8:00pm. The acclaimed Seattle band's hit songs include "Rivers and Roads," "Virginia," "Honeybee," "Lost in My My Mind," and "Down in the Valley." Steve Conte releases "Girl With No Name" New York City guitarist, singer-songwriter Steve Conte has released the music video for his latest single "Girl With No Name." The clip was shot on the streets of NYC & in studio by Natborn Productions’ Peter Perenyi & son Orion Perenyi, with motion graphics, lyrics & final touches by David Provan at 12 Inch Media. The song follows the summer release of his single "Fourth Of July" (co-written with Andy Partridge of XTC).
Newton Theatre presents The Genesis Show (NEWTON, NJ) -- After almost eight years, The Genesis Show returns to The Newton Theatre on Saturday, January 20, 2024. The Genesis Show is the only Genesis Tribute Band in the US dedicated to recreating the Phil Collins era of Genesis, specifically focusing on the '76-'82 Tours. With two drummers and a ton of vintage gear, The Genesis Show faithfully delivers the Genesis live experience. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Transformative Initiatives Coming to Zimmerli Supported by $560,000 Grant from Art Bridges Foundation's Access for All (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University—New Brunswick announced that it has received a $560,000 grant from Art Bridges Foundation's Access for All initiative. Over a three-year period, the Zimmerli will implement new and augment existing efforts to reduce barriers by transforming it into a more fully bilingual museum. The grant funds will support programming and communication—such as signage, gallery labels, promotional materials—presented in English and Spanish. The museum's efforts build upon prior offerings that have been well received by visitors of all ages.
