(BEACH HAVEN, NJ) -- Surflight Theatre is currently presenting the laugh-out-loud, 90-minute, gender-bending, quick-changing play, Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors from October 6-15, 2023. "Pretty Woman: The Musical" Is No Longer An Unfathomable Fantasy In Today's Society
 

What's more American than an inspirational rags-to-riches story? For most, the iconic, seemingly offbeat tale platformed in the 1990 film Pretty Woman wouldn't check off any of the wholesome criteria necessary to be considered as such. However, I'd beg to differ. The theater adaptation of Pretty Woman: The Musical is the modernized anecdote centered around the world's oldest profession.

 



Old Library Theatre presents "Titantic, the Musical"
 

(FAIR LAWN, NJ) -- Old Library Theatre (OLT), Fair Lawn Recreation Department's resident theatre company, will present Titantic, the Musical, over two weekends, October 13-22, 2023. Featuring music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and a book by Peter Stone, won five Tony awards in 1997, including Best Musical. Although it opened the same year as James Cameron's film of the same name, the two works are not related.

(MANASQUAN, NJ) -- Algonquin Arts Theatre is currently presenting the musical, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, from October 7-22, 2023. Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film's Academy Award-nominated score, plus new songs written for the stage. Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey's New Music Director to Open 2023-24 Season with Brahms, Elgar
 

(VOORHEES, NJ) -- The 85+ members of the all-volunteer Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey will take the stage to open the PSNJ's 2023-24 season on Sunday, October 15, 2023 as the group welcomes James Allen Anderson as its new Music Director. During this first performance of the season, the PSNJ will offer two iconic works from the symphonic repertoire: Edward Elgar's Enigma Variations and Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 98 by Johannes Brahms. The two works explore the "Theme and Variation" musical form and Anderson selected the works for their beauty and timelessness.

 



Princeton Makes to Host Two Concerts This Weekend
 

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton Makes, a Princeton-based artist cooperative, will host two music events – The Einstein Alley Coffee House on Friday, October 13 from 7:30pm to 9:00pm and the Java Jam on Sunday, October 15 at 4:00pm. Both events will be held at the Princeton Makes artist studios and art market in the Princeton Shopping Center.

Although it's drizzling in Morristown, NJ this Friday, September 29, 2023 evening, concertgoers cheerfully walk between the raindrops as they enter the Mayo Performing Arts Center for tonight's 29th Season gala opening night performance of "Hitting New Heights" starring Mandy Gonzalez and Javier Muñoz from Broadway's Hamilton and In the Heights.

Fall 2023 New Jersey Film Festival Winners Announced!
 

Fall 2023 New Jersey Film Festival Winners    ​​​​​​​All the works that were part of the Fall 2023 New Jersey Film Festival Competition were selected by a panel of judges including media professionals, journalists, students, and academics. These judges selected the 19 finalists which were publicly screened at our Festival. The finalists were selected from 403 works submitted by filmmakers from around the world. In addition, the judges chose the Prize Winners in conjunction with the Festival Director.

Max Horbund Art Exhibition to Benefit The Community Chest of Eastern Bergen County
 

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Bergen County artist Max Horbund will display his work in an exhibition, Expressions, at the Englewood Framing Gallery from November 4 through December 30, 2023. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of Horbund’s art will benefit The Community Chest of Eastern Bergen County.

Mansa K. Mussa Photography Exhibit at Vivid Stage
 

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit presents the work of artist Mansa K. Mussa on display in the Oakes Center lobby through the end of November. The artwork of Mansa K. Mussa is presented in collaboration with the Montclair Art Museum's Yard School of Art, where Mussa is an instructor.
