(MANASQUAN, NJ) -- Algonquin Arts Theatre is currently presenting The Sound of Music weekends through July 30, 2023. Join Maria, Captain Von Trapp and his children in one of the most beloved musicals of all time. The production is directed and choreographed by Jessica O'Brien. Photographer John Posada was on hand to take photos.

This classic has enchanted audiences for more than 50 years, featuring a trove of cherished songs, including "Climb Ev'ry Mountain," "My Favorite Things," "Do Re Mi," "Sixteen Going on Seventeen." The Sound of Music has won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The Sound of Music is sponsored by ““Broadway Ray” Soehngen.

The ensemble includes Immanuel Archilla, Daniel Clancy, Luke Hall, Charlie Thomas Hughes, Marianna Kiselev, Ainsley Lang (also AYE Instructor), Benjamin Neller (also Rehearsal Stage Manager), and Carl Sterling Smith.

The Sound of Music is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization.

Algonquin Arts Theatre (AAT) is a 501c(3) non-profit center for performing arts, providing cultural enrichment and arts education for residents and visitors of Central New Jersey and the Jersey Shore through high quality performances and programs in theatre, music, dance and film.

(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- In 2022, as the world was finally coming out of COVID-19, Aaron Lazar was invited to return to the stage to lead the cast of The Bridges of Madison County, playing opposite Kate Baldwin at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal. Just days into rehearsal, Lazar received a diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, a progressive neurological disease with no known cure. Directed by Center Players’ Artistic Director Michael Tota, the production will run from October 2-4 at the Herbst Theatre at the Jersey Shore Arts Center in Ocean Grove, marking the first time Center Players has performed in the venue.
