The Arts Institute of Middlesex County is presenting, promoting, and supporting a multitude of arts and culture events, exhibitions, and shows throughout the month of June. These events are free to enjoy for all County residents and beyond.

June’s event highlights include:

Celebrate Middlesex County: Come one come all on Saturday June 10 at Roosevelt Park in Edison, to celebrate all that Middlesex County has to offer and learn about programs and services that the County offers year-round! At this event, residents can enjoy local food vendors, live music and performances, games and activities, touch-a-truck, roller skating, arts and crafts, historical interpreters, and much more. The Arts Institute of Middlesex County will also be showcasing arts and crafts, like henna art and facepainting, with local arts organizations for every member of the family to enjoy.

Juneteenth Freedom Day Festival: Join the NAACP Metuchen Edison Area Branch for their Juneteenth Freedom Day Festival on June 10 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Papaiananni Park (100 Municipal Boulevard, Edison). Come out for a day of family friendly activities, a classic car & auto show, live performances, fireworks, food trucks and non-food vendors!

Succession Planning - The Roadmap: Calling all cultural professionals and leadership! The Non-Profit world is experiencing a brain drain with Board leadership, Executive Directors, and Key staff leaving their organizations. Some reasons are planned retirement, recovering from Covid, embracing work-life balance, and other reasons resulting in emergency transitions. This interactive workshop on Succession Planning, hosted by Pat Bohse, will cover what this plan is, how to get ready, conducting the search, and onboarding of the new individuals. This event will take place June 14 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Zoom, you can register for the event here.

Enjoy everything else the Village has to offer including historical exhibits, living history interpreters, food trucks, and crafts. Also be sure to check out the Liberty Baseball Club of New Brunswick taking on the Flemington Neshanock team in the annual Father's Day Vintage Baseball Game at Liberty Grounds Base Ball Field. The whole family can catch a doubleheader and see baseball the way it was played in the 1800s by using reproduction uniforms, equipment, and rules.
