Brick City Comedy Revue presents North to Shore Edition with Chris Gethard

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Brick City Comedy Revue, Newark's premier comedy showcase, has joined the festivities of North to Shore with a special edition on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Kilkenny Alehouse. The event, hosted by Justin Williams and DJ Popido, promises a special line-up of some of the best comedians around. The comedy lineup includes Chris Gethard, Kenice Mobley, Shakir Standley (Shak), Alex Grubard, and Ariel Leaty. The musical guest is Jané Miranda. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Tickets range from $10-$15 and are available for purchase online.

NJ’s own Chris Gethard, host of the podcasts Beautiful/Anonymous and New Jersey is the World, the author of a few awesome books, and the figurehead of a canceled television show that was actually more like a religious cult.

Kenice Mobley, a Finalist in the StandUp NBC Competition and an internationally touring stand-up comedian. She recently made her late-night debut on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Shakir Standley (Shak), an American comedian, host, DJ, and writer best known for doing stand-up on Last Comic Standing and for being one of the recurring cast members from Season 6 to Season 7 of the improv comedy show Wild ‘N Out on MTV2.

Alex Grubard, a stand-up comedian and also proud game show host/creator of Weeding Out The Stoned. You’ve probably seen or heard him on Comedy Central, mtvU and SiriusXM. 

Ariel Leaty, a comedian, actress, and writer from New Jersey who currently produces and co-hosts a popular monthly stand-up comedy showcase called Culture Vultures, which focuses on women, POC, and LGBTQ acts. 

The evening’s musical guest is Jané Miranda. Miranda is an artist whose work is inspired by her Puerto Rican roots and weaves together jazz, blues, boleros, plena y bomba and flamenco. Among other accolades, she’s appeared on The Voice and performed in the Americando Expo in Milan, Italy.

Kilkenny Alehouse is located at 27 Central Avenue in Newark, New Jersey. Brick City Comedy Revue is Newark's premier comedy showcase with shows on the First Friday of every month at Kilkenny Alehouse.
