Paper Mill Playhouse Announces 2023 Rising Star Nominations
 

(MILLBURN, NJ) -- As one of the nation's leading theaters and recipient of the Regional Theatre Tony Award, Paper Mill Playhouse has a well-earned reputation for launching both performers and shows to Broadway. Since their inception in 1996, the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater have ignited the careers of many notable performers, all of whom attended high school in New Jersey. Among the early nominees and winners are Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables), Tony Award winners Laura Benanti (Gypsy) and Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon), Tony nominee Rob McClure (Chaplin), Jelani Remy (Lion King, Ain't Too Proud), Shanice Williams, star of NBC's The Wiz Live! and Olivier Award nominee Jared Gertner (The Book of Mormon).

OCC Concert Band Presents The All-American Music Festival on Saturday
 

(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- The Ocean County College Concert Band will present The All-American Music Festival on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 7:00pm at The Grunin Center for the Arts, located on the college's main campus on College Drive. Tickets are $20 adults / $18 seniors / $10 children.

With songs like "Up, Up and Away” and "MacArthur Park,” Jimmy Webb has proven himself to be one of the greatest American songwriters of the past half-century. Some of his most memorable songs, however — "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "Galveston,” "Wichita Lineman,” and more — have come about as a result of his musical affiliation with legendary singer Glen Campbell.

Princeton Symphony Orchestra's Licence to Thrill Gala Was a Success
 

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) made the most of its Licence to Thrill Gala held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at stunning Jasna Polana. Arriving guests passed by a parked Aston Martin and entered into what could have been a 007 destination movie set: hors d’oeuvres passed about on silver trays, uniformed bartenders serving up shaken, not stirred cocktails, and attendees wearing black-tie, beautiful gowns, and the occasional dinner jacket.

 



State Theatre New Jersey presents LeAnn Rimes; Williams Honor to Open

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Four-time GRAMMY® award-winning and diamond-certified rock legends Aerosmith have announced PEACE OUT™ with special guest The Black Crowes. Fans will see one of the most significant American rock bands in history one last time during this not-to-be-missed final tour. Every night will celebrate the five decades of Aerosmith's groundbreaking hits as they celebrate 50 years as America's greatest rock band. Three shows in the area have been announced: Saturday, September 2nd at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia; Thursday, December 28 at the Prudential Center in Newark; and Friday, January 19, 2024 at MSG in NYC.

 



Django A Gogo 20th Anniversary; Trumpeter Joe Boga: "Be Ready to Expect Anything"
 

Cheryl Boga has been Conductor and Director of Performance Music at the University of Scranton for more than 40 years. Predictably, her son, Joe Boga, was exposed to music at an early age. "My mom started me on violin," he recalled, "and I didn’t want to do it. I kept begging to quit, and eventually she let me do it but insisted I couldn't quit music altogether."

Devotees of classical music inside Toms River, NJ's Grunin Center for the Arts this Sunday, April 23, 2023 evening eagerly await the start of a live performance by the musical duo, Piano Battle. Comprised of internationally-accomplished pianists Paul Cibis and Andreas Kern, the musicians — who each hail from Berlin, Germany — travel the world putting on music and comedy concerts where they go head-to-head on stage for audience approval with a performance that is part serious classical recital and part tongue-in-cheek comedy performance.

Studio Montclair presents "Launchpad"
 

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Studio Montclair, Inc., in partnership with the Department of Art and Design at Montclair State University, is pleased to present "Launchpad," a juried exhibition featuring the thesis work of select graduating students of the Department that will be on display from May 4-20, 2023.
