The Newton Theatre presents Southern Hospitality on July 14th

originally published: 04/27/2023

(NEWTON, NJ) -- The Newton Theatre presents Southern Hospitality on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 8:00pm. Southern Hospitality is comprised of lap steel guitar master Damon Fowler, guitarist extraordinaire J.P. Soars and keyboard wizard Victor Wainwright.

The three artists are musician's musicians, each bringing a unique style and fresh translation of the great Southern soul, blues, and rock music that came before them. Together, their mutual chemistry, high energy and musical talents create a cohesive vision, with echoes of Muscle Shoals and Macon, that organically flows together into an entirely original and dynamic form of Americana and Southern soul roots music with a modern sensibility.

Southern Hospitality not only meets their fan's expectations, but exceeds them. A dramatic leap for three of the blues world's most dynamic performers, Southern Hospitality is a confident yet unforced triumph of family and friends, offering a cohesive vision: an idyllic, musical world in which the echoes of so many great traditions reside; Delta blues, Memphis soul, Boogie-Woogie and Funky grooves organically flowing together, blending with an entirely original, modern sensibility. Damon, Victor and J.P. are friends, all working towards the same goal; To leave no corner of the blues unexplored and no fan of the blues unhappy.

The South has long been known for its hospitality and down home music. Recently the region has seen the emergence of a musical group of young musicians who are masters of their craft and embody the soul and spirit of Dixie.  Or as Blues Revue said, "There's a new entity in the blues world, a diverse, powerful group with enormous potential."

Tickets range from $29 to $49 and are available for purchase starting Friday, April 28 at 10:00am. The Newton Theatre is located at 234 Spring Street in Newton, New Jersey.
