3rd Annual Washington Rock 'n' Roll and Steampunk Fair to Take Place April 29th

originally published: 04/03/2023

(WASHINGTON, NJ) -- Washington will be uniquely "energized" come April 29. The 3rd Annual Washington Rock ‘n’ Roll and Steampunk Fair combines the steam-powered Victorian Era energy of the classic science fiction genre with a punk and rock ‘n’ roll feel that makes for an amazing day of retro-futuristic fun.

Themed vendors, live music, and activities are planned from 10:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday April 29 in and around the town’s Veteran's Park at 44 East Washington Avenue (Route 57), Washington (Warren County), in the center of the Downtown.

The eclectic music lineup includes nationally known Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys (shown at the top of this article), This Way to the Egress and Hi-Rev Combo.

The Steampunk Fair brings a scene that you certainly wouldn't see in Warren County, with attendees dressed in "steampunk clothing and gear", unique games and other assorted activities. But you don't need to "dress the part" to attend. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy this family-friendly event.

“Come and watch, participate, try it out," said Melanie Thiel, Executive Director of the Washington Business Improvement District. “If you've never been to a Steampunk event it is a truly fun event. It's not your typical event in part because it has an attendee participation aspect to it. We like to get dressed up is part of the fun - however it not essential to attending just for the fun of it.”

Buttzville Brewing will host a steampunk swap meet after the day activities from 6:00pm-9:00pm, as well as live music with A Halo Called Fred.

The full schedule of activities are on the WBID website, washingtonbid.org.

It is expected that over 50 vendors will participate this year.
