Arts Institute of Middlesex County Spotlights Events in March

originally published: 03/06/2023

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ) -- The Arts Institute of Middlesex County is presenting, promoting, and supporting a multitude of arts and culture events, exhibitions, and shows throughout the month of March. These events are free to enjoy for all County residents and beyond.

March's event highlights include:

Windows of Understanding - Metuchen "Meet the Artist" Reception: This public reception will highlight the artwork on display in the windows; guests are invited to meet the Windows of Understanding artists and featured organizational partners to learn more. Free refreshments will be served. This reception will take place on March 11 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Berkshire Hathaway, 564 Middlesex Ave, Metuchen, NJ.

Closing Reception: All are welcome to the closing reception of the 2023 Windows of Understanding season, which will take place on March 30 at 4:30pm. Guests are encouraged to bring a food item with them to donate to REPLENISH, which supplies food pantries across Middlesex County.

Wash and Learn: They are excited to share this innovative bilingual (Spanish-English) program called Wash and Learn. This creative literacy program organized by Roosevelt Elementary School in New Brunswick provides books for children of all ages, as well as adults. All donations are housed at a local laundromat to encourage students to read while parents are doing their laundry. To donate books to New Brunswick’s Wash and Learn program, please contact Anne-Marie Riveaux McMahon and Maritza Acevedo.
