(TEANECK, NJ) -- The Teaneck International Film Festival (TIFF), in partnership with PBS Indie Lens Pop-Up and the Puffin Foundation, plus the YWCA Northern New Jersey, presents Storming Caesar’s Palace, on Wednesday, March 15 at 7:30pm.

Once again, you may watch an eye-opening documentary at no charge, from the comfort of your own living room.  The film features Ruby Duncan, the activist who joined the group that took on the Nevada mob and led the fight for a guaranteed income for hotel workers.  It will be paired with the NJPBS short documentary 21:  Bergen County, which is about Rhona Vega, who started the organization Parent Matterz, a group dedicated to ensuring equal opportunities for all schoolchildren.

Following the screenings, join the conversation.  Stay for a talkback via Zoom moderated by YWCA CEO Helen Archontou with Caesar’s Palace director Hazel Gurland-Pooler, activist Sondra Phillips-Gilbert, who appears in the film and is the daughter of Ruby Duncan, and Rhona Vega. To reserve your spot for the film and talkback, click on the link to Eventbrite on the TIFF website:  www.teaneckfilmfestival.org.

The TIFF’s theme of Activism:  Making Change is very much connected to the mission of PBS Indie Lens and to that of the film festival’s major partner and supporter, the Puffin Foundation,Ltd., which provides community programming that is in line with its motto:  “continuing the dialogue between art and the lives of ordinary people” and opens the doors of the Puffin Cultural Forum to artists and art organizations that are often excluded from mainstream opportunities due to their race, gender, or social philosophy.
