The ShowRoom Presents "Fighting Like Cats and Dogs"

originally published: 01/22/2023

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Who are the most dedicated pet parents: dog doters or cat cuddlers? The ShowRoom will attempt to find the answer to this age-old question with the presentation of two documentaries in February. Cat Daddies will screen Friday, February 3rd at 7:30pm and Free Puppies! will screen Friday, February 10th at 7:30pm.

A portion of the proceeds from the Cat Daddies screening will go to Catsbury Park, and a portion of the proceeds from Free Puppies! will go to Pug Squad (Pugapalooza). The ShowRoom will donate an extra $25 to the organization associated with the film that draws the largest audience. Tickets for this important battle are available now at showroomcinemas.com.

A heartwarming and tender portrait of a diverse group of men whose lives have been forever changed by their love of cats, Cat Daddies takes us on an inspiring journey all across the United States during the challenging early days of the COVID-19 pandemic when people desperately needed hope and companionship. Cat Daddies shows us how being a “cat person” has no gender, and that the unlikely bond between man and cat is here to stay.

Free Puppies! tells the story of a chronically overlooked crisis that’s dogging the rural American South. Directors Samantha Wishman and Christina Thomas narrow their focus on Dade County in northwest Georgia, where an intrepid group of local women have stepped up to compensate for the lack of an operating animal shelter – rescuing over 20,000 dogs and taking matters into their own hands.

The ShowRoom Cinema, Asbury Park’s independent movie theater, is located at 707 Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
