The Nimbus Rose Gala to Take Place February 11th

originally published: 01/16/2023

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- The Nimbus Rose Gala: A Fundraiser for Nimbus' Artistic & Educational Programs will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 7:00pm.  The evening will honor the contributions of Sam Pesin (Friends of Liberty State Park), Annette Chaparro (NJ State Assembly and Arts Advocate) & Cristina Marte (Arts Educator and Advocate).

This will be an elegant affair with drinks, light bites, good company, silent and live auctions, & of course, plenty of dancing! Nimbus dancers highlight the evening with a preview of The New Tide, by Dawn Marie Bazemore, featuring photographs by Gordon Parks and the music of Sam Cooke; and an excerpt from Artistic Director Samuel Pott acclaimed Spring, set to Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring.

Tickets for this Black Tie Creative are available for purchase online.  If you cannot make it, you can make a donation online here.

In its 17th season, Nimbus is led by founding Artistic Director Samuel Pott, acclaimed choreographer and former soloist dancer of the Martha Graham Dance Company. Nimbus’ repertory is known for structured and musical dances that evoke deep-rooted emotional connection. Through the organization’s three interrelated fields – company, school, and presenting – Nimbus is committed to artistic excellence, community engagement, and progress, in so doing impacting 16,000 people each year.

The Nimbus Arts Center is located at 329 Warren Street in Jersey City, New Jersey. Opened in 2020, the Nimbus Arts Center at the Lively is a 14,900 sq. ft. multi-arts facility on the ground floors of the building, with apartments above, representing one of the most significant investments in the arts in Jersey City history. The comprehensive arts center includes a 150-seat black box theater, studio and rehearsal space for Nimbus’ Dance Company and School of Nimbus, and administrative offices. The center will be fully ADA accessible to audiences and artists alike.
