(LONG BRANCH NJ) -- Shore House, a Monmouth County NJ nonprofit that provides adults living with mental illness with access to educational, social and employment opportunities, is pleased to announce the return of their annual “Rock the House” fundraiser on November 20, 2022 at the Whitechapel Projects in Long Branch.
Skinny Amigo, a popular, diverse electronic and acoustic trio playing music from classic rock to country, will headline the show. The evening begins at 5:30pm with The Jillian Rhys McCoy, Ron Haney & Kyle Ward Trio opening. This year marks the first time The Whitechapel Projects hosts and their modern, industrial style venue will be a perfect backdrop to this energetic show. There will be activities for kids, hot chocolate bar and air- brush tattoos!, with reduced rates for students, and sponsorship opportunities are available. Click here for sponsorship info.
All proceeds benefit the members of Shore House, the one and only Clubhouse for adults living with mental illness in New Jersey. Unlike Clubhouses in other states (and despite they’re proven methods that keep members employed and reduce rehospitalization rates) Shore House receives no funds from private insurances, the state or federal government, or Medicaid. They rely on private and corporate donors to serve 300+ members from all over the state and that number unfortunately, keeps rising every month.
Like many charities, Shore House raises a large percentage of their funds during this time of year. Beginning with this event and throughout the holiday “giving” season, events and campaigns like this are crucial to their survival.
