Shakespeare Theatre of NJ Highlights Two Plays by African-American Playwright Alice Childress
 

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents two one-act plays, “Florence” and “Mojo: A Black Love Story,” by Alice Childress Oct. 26 to Nov. 13 at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre in Madison, New Jersey.

 



"Around the Sun" podcast to Release Season 2 Episodes
 

Around the Sun, the popular podcast series starring iconic and well-known actors from stage and screen begin droping its second season on October 26, 2022 with new episodes dropping until early 2023. Created by Brad Forenza and presented via the Broadway Podcast Network, this new season follows the success of the first series of short audio dramas (averaging 10 minutes each) that tell a different story. Together, they all tie in. The stories are engaging, interesting, different, insightful, humorous, inspiring and just fun to listen to as each actor's voice is a joy to hear.

 



"My Witch: The Margaret Hamilton Stories" Closes on Sunday
 

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company’s 2022 Fringe Festival is almost over and the Fat Knight production of My Witch: The Margaret Hamilton Stories will finish its run on Sunday, October 30. Performances will take place in the Kutz Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center of the Centenary University campus. My Witch: The Margaret Hamilton Stories tells the story of Margaret Hamilton, known for her role as the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz.

Jackson Pines To Headline Stone Pony w/ Friends on November 5th
 

On Saturday, November 5th, my band Jackson Pines will headline the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ for the first time. We’re super excited to bring our band and a few of our friends to play with us that evening, and Gary at NJ Stage has allowed me to tell you about the night in my own words. Green Day and Eddie Vedder to headline 5th Annual Innings Festival
 

Green Day and Eddie Vedder will headline the fifth annual Innings Festival, returning to Arizona’s Tempe Beach and Tempe Arts Park, February 25 and 26, 2023.  The two-day event will feature 18 bands on 2 stages, including performances from Weezer, Marcus Mumford, The Black Crowes, The Revivalists, The Offspring, Mt. Joy, The Pretty Reckless, The Head and the Heart and more, as well as curated food vendors and interactive baseball related activities.

 



Westminster to celebrate 30th anniversary of An Evening of Readings and Carols

Special screening of "Jesus Christ Superstar" with Cast Members To Celebrate Film's 50th Anniversary
 

(EWING, NJ) — The Landmark Motion Picture, Jesus Christ Superstar, was released in 1973. Next year it will celebrate it's 50th anniversary. To commemorate this  significant event a very special celebration with take place on January 14, 2023 at the Villa Victoria Theatre in Ewing. The screening begins at 7:00pm.

 



New York Stage and Film announces Liz Carlson Named Interim Artistic Director
 

(NEW YORK, NY) -- New York Stage and Film announced on October 27th that Artistic Director Chris Burney will be leaving at the end of his contract in December 2022 to pursue new, professional opportunities in education and commercial theatre. Liz Carlson, who has been part of NYSAF for more than 15 years, most recently serving as Artistic Producer, will become the Interim Artistic Director effective immediately and work alongside Burney until his departure. Carlson will program the 2023 Summer Season and work with the Board over the next two years to implement an extensive and inclusive search for a new Artistic Director.

Michael Sorvino (Almost Paris – 2016 Tribeca Film Festival Official Selection, Once Upon A Time in Queens, Spike Lee’s Summer of Sam, Lifetime’s Human Trafficking) and Heather Brittain O’Scanlon (Victim No. 6, Blue Bloods) have signed on for the family dramedy Big Enzo’s Wedding, to be directed by Francesco Nuzzi (Star Crossed Lovers). Sorvino, the latest actor to join the cast, will also be coming on board as one of the film’s producers.

Berrie Center for the Arts presents Renowned New Red Order’s “Mergers”
 

(MAHWAH, NJ) -- The highly acclaimed New Red Order (NRO) will perform their one-night only performance, “Mergers,” in the Adler Theater at the Berrie Center on Wednesday, November 16 at 6:30pm. Local Art & Poetry Magazine Organizes Holiday Community Food Drive
 

(BELMAR, NJ) -- On Saturday, November 5th, poets, musicians, and artists will band together to collect food for NJ families in need this coming holiday season. Organized by Soup Can Magazine, a New Jersey based art and poetry print publication, the event will take place at Belmar Arts Center, a cultural hub located right at the Jersey Shore.  The event begins at 6:00pm.
