"Crossing The Field: Artists Breaking Boundaries" at The Beacon in Jersey City

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Crossing The Field: Artists Breaking Boundaries, curated by Atim Annette Oton,  is the first exhibition in the series Exhibition at The Beacon from November 5 - December 18. It speaks to the ideas and materials that artists use to tell stories, experiment with ideas of materiality and cross both physical and personal boundaries in creating art. It is an exhibition exploring the different ideas, materials and trajectories that artists utilize to create work that speaks to their focus and talent. 

The Beacon is the former Jersey City Medical Center, now an apartment complex. The exhibition includes local and global artists exploring ideas. Artists reflect the diversity of Jersey City's population. 

Artists include Nafeesah Hodges, Olga Arkhipova, Alexandre Kyungu Mwilambwe, Melissa UIto, Winfred Nana Amoah, Akhtar Ahmed Rasha, Donchellee Fulwood, Janhavi Firke, P. Wamaitha Ng’ang’a, Lucy Rovetto, Musah Swallah, Terry Lively, Elan Cadiz, Jacquie Bird and Nanette Reynolds Beachner.

The gallery will have an opening reception on Saturday, November 5th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm in The Beacon: The Paramount - Leasing Office. Light Food and Refreshments will be provided by Ghost Truck Kitchen.

Grounds For Sculpture presents site-specific work exploring the nature of time in "Shantell Martin: Past, Present, Future"

(HAMILTON, NJ) -- Explore the fleeting nature of time through murals, daily meditative practices and newly commissioned sculptures in "Shantell Martin: Past, Present, Future," on view from September 20, 2026-July 23, 2028 at Grounds For Sculpture (GFS). The immersive, site-specific installation will feature new work indoors and sculptures in the park's gardens.
