If you are a student in grades 7-12 in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union or Warren counties, you can enter your original work to be a part of the 100th anniversary of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

As the country's longest-running and most prestigious scholarship and recognition program for creative students, the Art & Writing Awards not only offer young minds the chance to share their work with a regional and possibly national audience, but they also have the opportunity to win certificates, medals, and scholarships.

Visit poster.artandwriting.org to enter this year's competition!

The deadline to enter is 11:59pm on Saturday, December 17, 2023.

Gallery Aferro -- with the help of the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the nonprofit organization that presents the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards -- will once again eagerly review the entries of more than 4,000 students, coordinate the adjudication process with some of the brightest and generous voices in the tristate area arts scene, and celebrate the award recipients and their beloved educators with their own Gold Key Award Exhibition in Spring 2023.
