
(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- Experience a tradition that began more than 3,000 years ago in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. A multi-faceted presentation about Día de los Muertos will take place at on Monday, October 3, at the Ocean County Library Tuckerton Branch. The event starts at 7:00pm.
Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead celebrates the brief reunion of Mexican families with their deceased relatives. A blend of Aztec (Mesoamerican) ritual, Spanish culture and the Catholic religion, it is celebrated October 31 through November 2.
Hear a story recounting a family's preparation, watch a slide presentation of the Oaxaca, Mexico festival, and taste pan de muerto (bread of the dead) and hot chocolate.
