Black Box PAC Presents A Reading to Benefit Little People of America Dwarf Artists Coalition
 

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Black Box PAC, a theater company making its home in Englewood, NJ is partnering with the Dwarf Artists Coalition, a program dedicated for people of short stature, for a staged reading of Li’l, an original screenplay on August 30th. A portion of the tickets for the evening will be donated to the organization which is supported by Little People of America (501(c)3).

 



Crossroads Theatre Company presents a 2022-23 Season Preview
 

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Crossroads Theatre Company will present a 2022-23 season preview on Saturday, September 10 at 5:00pm in the Arthur Laurents Theater. This festive free event will include conversations with Crossroads artistic team, as well as actors working on the upcoming season, and a special performance by the incredibly talented jazz vocalist, April May and her band, Sounds of A&R in a captivating tribute to Sarah Vaughan.

(MANASQUAN, NJ) --  Algonquin Arts Theatre is presenting The Who’s Tommy from Friday, August 12 through Sunday, August 21. A smash-hit on both sides of the Atlantic, this is a powerful tale of a deaf, mute and blind pinball player who becomes an international sensation bursts on the stage in this multi-award winning adaptation of the original chart-topping rock album. Hit songs include "Pinball Wizard," "See Me, Touch Me." This show contains adult content.

 



Spring Lake Theatre Company presents "Gypsy"
 

(SPRING LAKE, NJ) -- Curtains up, light the lights! Gypsy is coming to the Spring Lake Theatre for the last two weekends in August. Gypsy tells the story of the dreams and efforts of one hungry powerhouse of a woman, to get her two daughters into show business. It is loosely based on the 1957 memoir of famous striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee.

(MANAHAWKIN, NJ) -- Following a three year “pandemic pause,” Bellarine Theatre Company is presenting Disney's The Little Mermaid with four performances from August 12-14 at the Stafford Township Arts Center. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film, this is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. The Basie presents Ray LaMontagne with special guest Lily Meola
 

(RED BANK, NJ) -- The Count Basie Center for the Arts presents Ray LaMontagne with special guest Lily Meola on Monday, October 31 at 7:30pm. Ray LaMontagne and his trio are on the road this Fall to perform live the songs from his album MONOVISION as well as hits from across his catalog. MONOVISION includes breakout songs such as “I Was Born To Love You” and #1 AAA single “Strong Enough”.

This native New Yorker, a comedy legend and Grammy Award winner will be appearing at the Brook Arts Center in Bound Brook on October 8 at 8:00pm, with his latest show, We Have A Lot To Talk About.

 



Comedy Benefit Show for The Showroom on September 13th
 

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Ugly Pancake Productions hosts a Benefit Comedy Show for The Showroom in Asbury Park on Tuesday September 13, 2022 at 7:30pm. The benefit is to help them defray some of the unanticipated operating costs they have encountered since reopening. The Lost Princess of Oz World Premiere Combines Ballet, Song and Bluegrass

AHArts announces two new exhibitions
 

(ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ) -- The Atlantic Highlands Arts Council (AHArts) will present “Real Abstract” in their main gallery from August 27 through September 17, 2022.  They will also present “Sandy Taylor and Carol Magnatta: A Juxtaposition” in their street level window galleries from August 21 through October 1, 2022. 

 



Visual Arts Center of New Jersey presents Fall Exhibition: "Ripple Effect"
 

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- On Friday, September 16, 2022, the Visual Art Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) will begin a year-long celebration of its 90th Anniversary by opening its fall exhibition, Ripple Effect. The show will feature artwork by 37 of the Art Center’s teaching artists who have transformed and enriched lives through the shared experience of art and will run through Sunday, January 8, 2023.

The event was presented by State Theatre New Jersey, New Brunswick Cultural Center, New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC), and AboveArtStudios and hosted by New Jersey Radio Hall of Famer Bert Baron and Founder of TSO Productions, Sharon Gordon. T&M Associates Foundation to Cleanup Historic Cedar View Cemetery in Lincroft on Wednesday
 

(LINCROFT, NJ) -- T&M Associates Foundation will clean up a historic cemetery in Lincroft that many residents may not even know exists.  It's the Historic Cedar View Cemetery, which dates back to 1850 and is an African-American burial ground. The cleanup takes place on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 8:30am to 12:00pm.

 



18th Annual India Day Parade takes place Sunday
 

(WOODBRIDGE, NJ) -- The Indian Business Association presents the 18th Annual India Day Parade on Sunday August 14th at 1:00pm. The parade starts at the intersection of Cinder Rd & Oak Tree Road in Edison and marches eastbound to the intersection of Middlesex Ave & Oak Tree Rd in the Iselin section of Woodbridge.

 



Jersey City Theater Center Kicks Off 16th Anniversary Season
 

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) has announced that tickets for its Fall 2022 performance season are now on sale at the JCTC website. This season, JCTC will showcase productions from international sensations such as the National Theatre of Ukraine, famed musical quartet DakhaBrakha, Heart of Afghanistan, Barcelona-based theatre company Los Escultores del Aire and Kofago Dance Ensemble, one of the nation’s most talented African dance companies.  As always, JCTC will also highlight local New Jersey talents like actor/director Kent Jackman.

 



Incoming Students Get an Early Start to College Experience at Ramapo College EOF Summer Studies Institute
 

(MAHWAH, NJ) -- For the first time since 2019, students gathered in person on the Ramapo College campus for the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Summer Studies Institute. The Institute is a five-week program where highly motivated incoming first-year students who exhibit the potential for success, and who come from families/communities disadvantaged by low income and/or a lack of access to quality educational preparation necessary to attend college, receive an immersive introduction to the college experience.

 



Monmouth County Commissioners invite families of 9/11 victims to participate in memorial ceremony
 

(FREEHOLD, NJ) -- The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners is inviting families of Monmouth County 9/11 victims to participate in the Monmouth County September 11 Memorial Ceremony, which will be held at Mount Mitchill Scenic Overlook at 460 Ocean Boulevard, Atlantic Highlands, NJ on Sunday, Septemer 11 at 9:00am.

Seton Hall University to Present Robin Roberts With Lifetime Professional Achievement Award
