Scottish Rite Auditorium presents Will Downing with Special Guest Maysa

originally published: 07/25/2022

(COLLINGSWOOD, NJ) -- On Friday, December 2, Scottish Rite Auditorium presents Will Downing with special guest Maysa.  With a career that spans over 35 years and 25 albums, Will Downing is one of the most versatile and loved voices of our time. Doors are at 7:00pm, showtime is 8:00pm. Tickets range from $49.50 to $79.50.

Will Downing is known as The Prince of Sophisticated Soul, his repertoire consists of signature interpretations of R&B classics like “I Go Crazy”, “Wishing On A Star” and “I Try”, with original hits “A Million Ways”, “Sorry I” and the show-stopping duet with Rachelle Ferrell, “Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This”. His distinctive baritone voice has resonated in the hearts of women worldwide and carved a unique niche in the music marketplace.

With fresh melodies and lush arrangements that satisfy all musical palates, Downing continues to serve his fan base through his own Sophisticated Soul record label and sold-out tour dates across the country. His latest release entitled “Sophisticated Soul” was released on November 1, 2021. He also hosts his weekly radio show The Wind Down which is aired on this site and over 20 stations around the world in the USA, UK, Japan, and Spain.

Maysa is the kind of singer who takes hold of a song and enraptures her audience in the palm of her hands, as she delivers lyrics, phrases, melodies and harmonies in a way that only she can. Blessed with an instantly identifiable honey-toned mezzo-soprano and an undeniably brilliant and magnetic stage presence, Maysa’s alluring vocals, candor, honesty, humor and purity as an artist make her a rarity in this business. Having collaborated with everyone from Stevie Wonder to Incognito, Angela Bofill, Will Downing and Jonathan Butler, Phil Perry and more...Maysa can hang with the best. It is no wonder she was the recipient of many awards for her work, including Soul Train’s first Centric Award in 2009, and her first Grammy nomination for Best Traditional R&B Performance for her remake of Nancy Wilson’s  “QUIET FIRE” in 2014.

Tickets go on sale Thursday, July 28, at 10:00am- tickets can be purchased directly through the box office, both in person and over the phone, or online at Ticketmaster.  The Scottish Rite Auditorium is located at 315 White Horse Pike in Collingswood, New Jersey.
