(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- The Play Reading Series at Holmdel Theatre Company presents readings of two new works by Evan Krachman on Monday, July 11 at 7:00pm. The works include Rusted Lock and Colony 53. Admission is free. Donations are welcome.
RUSTED LOCK - This is the story of Anne Maloney, the Magistrate of a small village in Ireland called Melrose. Anne is alone, but strong and determined to bring the guilty parties to justice. She finds herself dangerously close to the men responsible and she’s constantly threatened by the men who want to protect the secret. These men hide the truth through games, deception and alcohol. The drama unfolds with the discovery of hidden evidence that will strengthen Anne’s resolve to bring the guilty to justice.

COLONY 53 - This is a short play about a dystopian world, where out casts of society are sent to learn to live with each other. The action unfolds as David meet’s his new next door neighbor Petra. Together they learn compassion, fear and hatred of the mysterious light. Careful of their every thought and words said out loud, David and Petra together will explore their past and possible future relationship.

Evan Krachman is a playwright based in New Jersey and has written 64 plays since 2012. His plays have been produced in New Jersey, New York and California. In 2019 Muy Caliente was produced for the “Some Like it Hot” Festival, NJ Repertory Theater, Long Branch. Evan also created PlaywrightsSpeak.com where he produces and directs live events and podcasts. He is very excited to havehis work featured for a staged reading at the Holmdel Theater Company.
The Holmdel Theatre Company is located at 36 Crawfords Corner Road in Holmdel, New Jersey. They are a non-profit, semi-professional theatre company dedicated to presenting fresh interpretations of classic plays as well as rarely presented modern dramas and comedies. HTC is dedicated to providing opportunities for students and non-professionals to work with professional theatre artists in a collaborative, artistic and educational exchange.
