Holmdel Theatre Company's Broadway at the Barn Series presents Laura Bell Bundy


​​​​​​​(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- The Holmdel Theatre Company presents Laura Bell Bundy on Friday, June 24 at 8:00pm as part of their Broadway at the Barn series. Laura Bell Bundy is a Tony nominated Broadway actress & Billboard top 5 recording artist. She is also the founder of the Women Of Tomorrow Foundation and a National Women’s History Museum ambassador.  After a career in entertainment for over 31 years, she chose to channel her artistry into activism with a focus on women’s rights and equality. 
Old Library Theatre to hold auditions for "It Shoulda Been You"


(FAIR LAWN, NJ) -- Old Library Theatre will hold auditions for the musical It Shoulda Been You on May 19 and May 20 from 6:30pm - 9:00pm. Auditions will be held in the Fair Lawn Community Center (10-10 20th Street), downstairs in the Teen Room. Potential callbacks are scheduled for May 22nd from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
Middletown Arts Center Announces Call for Submissions to The MAC ONE-ACTS Play-Reading Festival


(MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The Middletown Arts Center has announced a call for submissions to The MAC ONE-ACTS, a play-reading festival featuring original, one-act works by New Jersey playwrights. Entries from New Jersey residents ages 13 and older will be accepted and must be original, unpublished scripts adhering to standard professional play format with run-times of no longer than 30 minutes. Submission deadline is Friday, May 13th at 11:59pm.

Remember Jones celebrated the sound of Meat Loaf and the music of Jim Steinman with three performances of Bat Out of Hell Live at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center from April 29 to May 1. Remember Jones performed the entire classic album from 1977 and more with a 12-piece band and special guests that include Max Weinberg and Low Cut Connie. Porchistas Host Forest Street Summer Kickoff Festival


(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- On Saturday May 28 of Memorial Day Weekend, The Porchistas, in coordination with Pizza Bagel Records, are bringing in the summer Jersey style with a ten act outdoor festival in their yard at 148 Forest Street in Montclair from 1:00pm to 10:00pm.

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The newly renovated State Theatre New Jersey presents Gavin DeGraw—Full Circle Tour on Sunday, May 22 at 7:30pm. Gavin DeGraw is a multi-platinum selling singer, performer, and songwriter. He first broke through with the 2003 release of his debut album, Chariot, which sold over 1 million copies, earned platinum certification, and yielded three hit singles: “I Don’t Want To Be,” “Follow Through,” and the title-track, “Chariot.”

World Cafe Live announces Puerta Abierta - Series Celebrating Sounds of Latinx Culture


(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- World Cafe Live has announced Puerta Abierta, a new initiative coming to the nonprofit independent venue located in University City, centering and celebrating the diasporic sounds of Latinx culture. Puerta Abierta, which translates to “Open Door,” aims to promote accessibility and create programs that reflect the diverse communities found in Philadelphia.  Concerts and events will take place at the venue, located at 3025 Walnut Street, from May 27 through August 19, 2022.

BergenPAC presents DCappella - Disney's a cappella group


(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- In honor of Star Wars Day (May 4th), DCappella, Disney’s premier a cappella singing sensation, unveiled a video for “Cantina Band,” their take on the song composed by John Williams which appeared in the 1977 film, Star Wars: A New Hope.  DCappella also announced a fall US tour, “Deck the Halls with Disney Featuring DCappella, which includes a stop at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) on Thursday, December 15 at 8:00pm.

The Arts Council of Princeton Unveils New Community Mural
 on Spring Street by Artist Fiona Chinkan


(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) recently unveiled a new community mural in Downtown Princeton titled Superbloom. Designed and painted by artist Fiona Chinkan, this bright, playful public art piece can be found on the side of Village Silver on Spring Street.
Hoboken Historical Museum presents New Works by Lou Carbone


(HOBOKEN, NJ) -- The Hoboken Historical Museum presents the recent work of Hoboken master painter Lou Carbone in an exhibit called "COVID".  The exhibit runs from Saturday, May 7 until Sunday, July 3 in the Upper Gallery.  It consists of 25 16 x 20 acrylic paintings done under quarantine.

Princeton Festival Hosts Poetry Workshop Guided by Nicole Homer


(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) invites poets of all ages to be a part of a free poetry workshop to be held Saturday, June 18 at 12:30pm during the 2022 Princeton Festival. Guest poet Nicole Homer will lead the “Just Poetry” workshop and talk about how what we see onstage can move us to be creative. This year’s prompt invites poets to take inspiration from themes found in Derrick Wang’s opera Scalia/Ginsburg. The poetry will explore what it means to be a feminist, the concept of dissent, and how to forge unlikely friendships in difficult times.
