Theater League of Clifton to Hold Auditions for "Man of La Mancha"


(CLIFTON, NJ) -- The Theater League of Clifton will hold auditions for its mainstage production of the Broadway classic “Man of La Mancha” on May 5, 6, 7 and call backs on May 9 at Living Hope Presbyterian Church, 303 Maplewood Ave., Clifton. Audition sessions will run from 7:00pm-9:00pm except for Saturday, May 7 (from 1:00pm-3:00pm).
Help East Lynne Theater Company kick off its 42nd Season at Fins Bar & Grille on May 1st


(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Help East Lynne Theater Company kick off its 42nd Season at Fins Bar & Grille on Sunday, May 1st from 10:30am – 2:30pm.  Fins is located in Cape May at 142 Decatur Street on the Washington Street Mall. This is the fifth year that Fins has helped ELTC and other nonprofits in the community.
Vivid Stage to Honor Retiring Summit Library Director Susuan Permahos at Annual Fundraising Gala: Backyard BBQ Bash


(WATCHUNG, NJ) -- Vivid Stage, formerly Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, is holding a Backyard BBQ Bash on May 7, 2022 at a private home in Watchung, NJ. As part of this special fundraising event, the theatre will honor retiring director of the Summit Public Library, Susan Permahos, for her contributions to the arts and culture in Summit.

Monmouth's Tuesday Night Record Club looks at "Physical Graffiti" by Led Zeppelin


(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University's Center for the Arts presents a virtual edition of Tuesday Night Record Club on Tuesday, May 3rd at 7:30pm.  They will be taking a look at Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin.  The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. After registering you will be provided the Zoom meeting link to join the conversation.
MattstaGraham Releases "Prescribe Whatever"


(ARIZONA, NJ) --  Emo rock artist MattstaGraham has shared the final single and title track from his forthcoming debut album, Prescribe Whatever.  The album is set to be released on April 29th via I Surrender Records.

(BOZEMAN, MT) -- Kitchen Dwellers has released “Smokestack” - the latest track off the band’s forthcoming album Wise River. “Smokestack” premiered at Bluegrass Today who said, “they write and record songs that speak to a different sort of bluegrass fan, and have gained a nationwide following as a result.”  
Better Strangers releases "But I Don't Know Your Name"

Harpin' Help 2022 to Take Place April 24th


(LAKE COMO, NJ) -- Harpin' Help 2022 will take place Sunday, April 24th at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como.  Running from noon to 9:00pm, Harpin' Help is an an annual charity event organized by Sandy Mack, in conjunction with the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation (JSJB). The event benefits the Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry, The Reformation Community Food Pantry of West Long Branch, and JSJB.

Connecticut punks American Thrills have released their new single, "Ivy League Swing” across all digital platforms. The track is the another single off of the band's full-length release set to drop sometime this fall through Wiretap Records.

Art629 Issues Call for Artists


(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- art629 is looking for LGBTQIA+ Artists and Allies to submit work for their upcoming pride exhibition this June.  In honor of NJ Pride Month and in commemoration of the 53rd anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, an event which helped spark the LGBTQIA+ rights movement, they are looking for art that represents the culture of the LGBTQIA+ community. All media is welcome.
Zimmerli Art Museum presents Walls/Gates/Bridges: An Anti-Carceral Gathering


(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The Zimmerli Art Museum presents Walls/Gates/Bridges: An Anti-Carceral Gathering on Saturday, May 7th from noon to 5:00pm. This event includes contributions from survivors of incarceration, anti-carceral activists, and scholars about continuing Angela Davis’s struggle for justice and freedom in New Jersey.

Here's a look at the top 10 most read articles published at New Jersey Stage during the week of April 10-16, 2022.  Each week, we publish about 70 articles, including several original columns and features, along with news releases for events happening throughout the state and nearby areas like Philadelphia and New York City. This week Top Ten includes articles covering six counties in New Jersey (Atlantic, Cape May, Essex, Hunterdon, Mercer, and Monmouth).  Paper Mill Playhouse had three of the top five stories along with three stories on music festivals throughout the state.
