Eva’s Village in Paterson receives $20,000 Kearny Bank contribution

originally published: 02/28/2022

(FAIRFIELD, NJ) --In support of Paterson-based non-profit Eva’s Village, KearnyBank Foundation has contributed a total of $20,000 to help address an expanded need for services dictated by the ongoing pandemic.

Operating on a three-block campus along Main Street, Eva’s Village helps thousands of men, women, and children by providing for basic needs and addressing such complex issues as addiction, mental illness, and chronic homelessness. KearnyBank Foundation began ongoing financial support of Eva’s Village in 2020.

“Our organization is an essential resource for individuals and families in Paterson and the surrounding area,” says Eva’s Village CEO Howard Haughton. “We rely on the generous support from donors, such as KearnyBank Foundation, to enable us to continue to serve those who need our help. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the needs of the community intensified and the consequences of the health crisis are still ongoing. The continued support from KearnyBank Foundation has been critical in allowing us to continue to serve those in need in these challenging times.”

Along with KearnyBank Foundation’s financial contributions, a number of bank employees volunteer regularly at Eva’s Village by helping to prepare and then serve lunches.

“KearnyBank Foundation was established to offer assistance throughout areas where we have the privilege of conducting business,” explains Kearny Bank President and CEO Craig Montanaro. “I can’t imagine another organization that provides more direct support to people in need than Eva’s Village. We’re grateful that we’re able to contribute.”
