Here's a look at the top 10 most read articles published at New Jersey Stage during the week of February 6-12, 2022.  Each week, we publish about 70 articles, including several original columns and features, along with news releases for events happening throughout the state and nearby areas like Philadelphia and New York City. This week Top Ten includes articles covering five counties in New Jersey (Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, and Union).

1) Review: "Clue" at Paper Mill Playhouse - Clue, the mystery boardgame of my youth, has been wonderfully, intelligently and hysterically been brought to the stage of the Paper Mill Playhouse.  It’s no mystery why this deftly directed and designed production is so entertaining.  Every aspect of the show is well done and deserves praise.  Do not pass, go directly to papermill.org and book tickets.  The production runs through February 20, 2022. 

2) NJCU presents Igniting the Imagination: An evening of music and exploration of David Bowie's creative process - (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- New Jersey City University presents Igniting the Imagination: An evening of music and exploration of David Bowie's creative process on Saturday, February 12 at 8:00pm.  The event takes place in the NJCU School of Business Lecture Hall. Admission is $20 and all attendees must adhere to the NJCU Theater COVID-19 Protocols.

3) Mother's Day Good Music Festival at Prudential Center features The Isley Brothers, Keith Sweat, Monica, and SWV - (NEWARK, NJ) -- SJ Presents The Mother’s Day Good Music Festival with multi-platinum and Grammy Award-Winning iconic performers The Isley Brothers, Keith Sweat, Monica, and SWV at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Friday, May 6 at 8:00pm. 

4) Joey Skaggs: Fish Condos screens at the Spring 2022 New Jersey Film Festival on February 11Joey Skaggs: Fish Condos is a short documentary film directed by Judy Drosd and Joey Skaggs and will be showing at the New Jersey Film Festival on Friday, February 11, 2022. Fish Condos is the fifth film in an ongoing series titled Joey Skaggs: Satire and Art Activism, 1960s to the Present and Beyond. The series, which documents the art and life of Mr. Skaggs, seems to be a series of instructional videos for budding artists to learn how to master the art of creation.

5) New Jersey Film Festival Spring 2022 Filmmaker Interview with The Outwaters Director Robbie BanfitchThe Outwaters is a naturalistic, slow-burn feature film about a group of travelers who encounter menacing phenomena while camping in a remote stretch of the Mojave Desert. The Outwaters will be getting its World Premiere Online for 24 hours on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the New Jersey Film Festival. 

6) A look at "Joey Skaggs: Fish Condos"Joey Skaggs: Fish Condos by Judy Drosd and Joey Skaggs is a wonderful film that is the fifth in a series called “Joey Skaggs: Satire and Art Activism, 1960s to the Present and Beyond.” The film details how Skaggs got the idea to spice up fish aquariums with the use of doll furniture. He originally did it as a satire on the world-turning condo, but the public loved them and they soon became a viable revenue source for the artist.

7) Arthouse Film Festival Returns With In-Person Screenings - Arthouse Film Festival will return on March 7th for ten weeks at AMC Mountainside, and for the first time, Red Bank on March 9th at the Basie Center Cinemas. The festival is open to anyone, but seating is limited, so early enrollment is advised.  Subscription is $146 for five weeks or $257 for all ten weeks.  After February 28, rates will go up.  Also being offered is a specially priced flex ticket so users may choose any eight out of ten nights for their convenience.

8) Makin Waves Song of the Week is "Even Now" by Alexander Simone & the WHODAT? Live Crew - Asbury Park-based Alexander Simone & the WHODAT? Live Crew will rock their hometown Feb. 5 at What a Wonderful Year at the Wonder Bar and Feb. 12 at Langosta Lounge in support of their new Telegraph Hill Records single, “Even Now.”

9) Newark Symphony Hall Hires Industry Veteran Chris Sabin as its First Director of Communications and Social Impact - (NEWARK, NJ) -- Newark Symphony Hall, New Jersey’s largest Black-led arts and entertainment venue, has hired Chris Sabin as its first director of communications and social impact. Sabin brings with him over two decades of experience engaging people and advocating for better outcomes. His experience includes management roles at MTV Networks, UWG and Prime Access. Most recently, Sabin served as an independent marketing, events and talent consultant for clients including the NAACP for its Leadership Summit, National Convention and Image Awards.  

10) Remember Jones to Perform "Bat Out Of Hell" Live at Axelrod PAC - (DEAL PARK, NJ) -- Remember Jones will celebrate the sound of Meat Loaf and the music of Jim Steinman with three performances of Bat Out of Hell Live at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center from April 29 to May 1. Remember Jones will perform the entire classic album from 1977 and more with a 12-piece band and special guests that include Max Weinberg and Low Cut Connie.
