(ARDMORE, PA) -- On Friday, March 11th, Ardmore Music Hall will get in the Mardi Gras spirit by celebrating the music and legacies of New Orleans icons Art Neville and Dr. John. The star-studded tribute show will feature collaborative sets headlined by band director John "Papa" Gros, Leo Nocentelli (The Meters), Big Sam and The New Orleans Suspects.
Hosts David Dye and Julian Booker of Philadelphia’s WXPN will also be spinning vinyl throughout the evening between sets.
Booker says, “Ardmore has long been a regional home for many of the best musicians in New Orleans. Having Leo Nocentelli, an original member of New Orleans' greatest funk band, The Meters, and this all-star cast of NOLA staples paying tribute to Art Neville and Dr. John – two absolute giants of 20th century New Orleans music – are the makings of a truly special night. Getting to spin NOLA classics in between sets with my friend, David Dye, who helped kick start my own interest in New Orleans R&B and Funk, will be such an honor. It will be the perfect way to celebrate the heritage of one of our country's most unique and important cultures. And above all, it is going to be a hell of a party!”
Tickets are available for purchase online. Different VIP packages are also available, such as a two-hour open bar and a "Geaux Big" dinner menu curated by Ondawood ~ Ripplewood Whiskey & Craft's ghost kitchen. Food options include po'boys, muffalettas, gumbo, and New Orleans-inspired drink specials to pair with the sounds of “The Big Easy.”
