Passage Theatre Company presents World Premiere of "The OK Trenton Project"

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Five years ago, a group of Trenton students spent their summer creating a sculpture entitled “Helping Hands.”  They learned the skills necessary to build something out of nothing with the promise of their work being publicly displayed in their community.  Four days after installation, the sculpture was removed due to anonymous complaints that the piece too closely resembled a gang symbol.  Based on a true story and composed of verbatim interviews from those directly involved, The OK Trenton Project, presented by Passage Theatre Company in Trenton, New Jersey, is an experience that explores the role art plays in the community and the consequences faced when it’s taken away.  The world premiere production comes to the Mill Hill Playhouse (205 E. Front Street, Trenton) from February 10 through February 27, 2022.  Press are invited to the opening night performance on February 12 at 7:30pm.

Light of Day Winterfest 2022 Is Officially Postponed

With health and safety remaining a top priority, the Light of Day Foundation has postponed WinterFest 2022 shows and events scheduled for January 7-17. Bob's Birthday Bash ("The Main Event"), scheduled for January 14 at the Count Basie Center in Red Bank, NJ, will now take place on Saturday, March 12, 2022.

State Theatre presents Dancing with the Stars: Dare to Be Different on January 19th

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Dancing with the Stars – Dare to Be Different on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 8:00pm. Joining the professional dancers for this performance is season 29 Mirrorball Champion Kaitlyn Bristowe. Tickets range from $55-$125. VIP packages are also available.

Memorial for Nai-Ni Chen Will Be Held Virtually on January 8 & In-Person on January 9

(FORT LEE,NJ) -- Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company will hold memorials for Nai-Ni Chen virtually on January 8 and in-person on January 9, 2022. Nai-Ni Chen, who died in a swimming accident while on vacation with her family in Hawaii on December 12, 2021, was founder, choreographer, and Artistic Director of Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company.

Bob Krist to Judge the 2022 Phillips’ Mill Photo Exhibition

(NEW HOPE, PA) -- Phillips’ Mill Photo has announced that esteemed freelance photographer Bob Krist will be the sole juror for the 2022 Phillips’ Mill Photo Exhibition. This will be the first time since 2018 that the prestigious show will be on the gallery walls at the historic Phillips’ Mill in New Hope, Pa. The exhibition will run from April 2 – 22, 2022. 

Artworks Trenton Appoints M’kina Tapscott as Executive Director

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Artworks Trenton, a leading visual arts center in central New Jersey, has announced the appointment of M’kina Tapscott as Executive Director, beginning January 18, 2022. The selection of Ms. Tapscott followed an intensive search and selection process. Ms. Tapscott succeeds Lauren Otis, Executive Director since February, 2016, who in 2021 announced his intention to step down pending the appointment of a dynamic successor.

RVCC to Present Virtual Events to Commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day On January 27th

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The Raritan Valley Community College Institute of Holocaust and Genocide Studies will commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day with two virtual events on January 27th. Both programs are free of charge and open to the public.
