For over five decades, João Bosco has been crafting one of the most unique work in Brazilian music, blending voice, guitar, and relentless invention. Last year, this remarkable journey reached a new chapter with the release of Boca Cheia de Frutas (“Mouth Full of Fruit”), a critically acclaimed album hailed as one of the most important works of the year. Now, João Bosco’s creative universe blossoms once again on stage with a brand-new show, celebrating his upcoming 80th birthday, followed by a worldwide tour featuring the João Bosco Quartet.
In this performance, João revisits essential classics from his celebrated career — songs that have shaped Brazil’s collective memory — while weaving some powerful tracks from his latest album.
Sharing the stage with João Bosco is a world-class lineup: Ricardo Silveira (guitar), Guto Wirtti (bass) and Kiko Freitas (drums), The musical direction and concept of the show are by João and his son Francisco Bosco, who also collaborated on the songwriting for recent albums and co-developed the show’s artistic vision.
