Newark Museum of Art presents Risham Syed: Destiny Fractured

(NEWARK, NJ) -- The Newark Museum of Art is presenting Risham Syed: Destiny Fractured an exhibition of works responding to the museum's permanent collection on view now through March 7th, 2027. Some of the inspirational artworks from NMOA's collection include American landscapes, Chinese scroll paintings, and the period rooms in The Ballantine House.



East Lynne Theater Company presents Ken Ludwig's "Dear Jack, Dear Louise"

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- The award-winning, Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company (ELTC) – now in its 45th year–will present its first show of the company's Mainstage Season, Ken Ludwig's "Dear Jack, Dear Louise," from June 19 to July 12, 2025 with a special performance to honor Veterans on June 27. The heartwarming love story features Liz Mattera, an East Lynne veteran, as Louise, and New York-based actor Xander Furman as Jack, with Mark Edward Lang (ELTC's "Possessing Harriet") directing and lush period costumes by NYC designer Travis Chinick.



Outpost in the Burbs presents Ron Sexsmith with opener Ed Seifert

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Outpost in the Burbs presents acclaimed singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the First Congregational Church (40 South Fullerton Avenue) in Montclair. New Jersey-based singer-songwriter Ed Seifert will open the show. Showtime is 8:00pm.

It opens with a funeral and a woman named Mary staring blankly at her husband’s body as other mourners surround her. The Lord’s Prayer is recited while her son stands beside her. She reaches out and clutches a white rose. That image alone tells us we’re entering not just a crime story, but a slow-burning, emotionally complex portrait of survival.
