(NEW YORK, NY) -- The Broadway League announced on June 29 that Broadway performances in New York City will be suspended through the remainder of 2020 due to COVID-19. The League has released updated information regarding performance cancellations and ticketing. Broadway theatres are now offering refunds and exchanges for tickets purchased for all performances through January 3, 2021.... (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- George Street Playhouse is honored to receive a CARES Act economic stabilization grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to create the Digital Humanities Teaching Institute--a virtual professional development program for K-12 humanities teachers.  George Street Playhouse is one of five NEH CARES Act recipients in New Jersey.  This grant supports essential operations at more than 300 cultural institutions across the country, and GSP is one of five theatres in the nation that received this award.  ... (MADISON, NJ) -- The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) has decided to move their entire 2020 season line-up of plays on both its Main Stage and Outdoor Stage to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the State’s current guidelines regarding in-person gatherings.   The 58th season, which was set to debut in May with Enchanted April and close with A Midwinter Night’s Dream, a wintry adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in December, will premiere in the same order in 2021 when both the State and the Theatre feel it will be safe for large public gatherings once again....
