Richard Thompson releases "Singapore Sadie" from Upcoming Album

The legendary Richard Thompson will return with his new album, Ship To Shore, on May 31. Listen to the first track, "Singapore Sadie." The influential singer-songwriter and virtuosic guitarist has been on a singular musical journey for over a half century, from his days in the '60s as a pioneer of British folk rock with Fairport Convention, to his seminal '70s duo work with Linda Thompson, to the exploratory, deeply emotional music of the solo career that has been his primary concern ever since.



Made in NJ Production "The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live" Makes Debut

(EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ) -- New Jersey continues to maintain an active presence in The Walking Dead franchise with the release of the limited series, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which aired on February 28, 2024. Audiences recently caught a sneak preview of this spinoff during the halftime of Super Bowl LVIII. The project was supported by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority's (NJEDA) Film and Digital Media Tax Credit program.



Manalapan Filmmaker's "Why I Had to Kill You While You Slept" to Screen at Garden State Film Festival

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Garden State Film Festival (GSFF) takes place March 21-24 in Asbury Park and Cranford. Among the 200 films being screened are feature length and short films, documentaries, comedies, children's, thrillers, pilots, student films and "Home-Grown”" films shot in New Jersey. One such film is Why I Had To Kill You While You Slept, which was written, directed and edited by Manalapan resident, Anthony Marinelli, will screen on Saturday, March 23rd at 2:30pm at Asbury Hall in the Asbury Hotel, block TA10.

"This is my first book but I'm already halfway through my next one," laughs author Katherine Yeske Taylor, "I'm a glutton for punishment I guess. I guess I didn't realize until I got into it how difficult writing a book is; writing a book is different from writing an article. This book has been two years in the making which is pretty quick as far as books go but it's a lot more and different work than writing magazine articles."

Prudential Center presents Kacey Musgraves with Father John Misty and Nickel Creek

Seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves has announced her long-awaited return to the stage with her 2024 "Deeper Well World Tour" promoted by AEG Presents. The headline world tour kicks off this spring in Dublin with stops in Europe and the UK, followed by the North American leg commencing on September 4th in State College, PA. This is the most extensive live tour of Kacey's career, playing major cities across the U.S. including a date at Prudential Center in Newark on Monday, September 9, 2024 with Father John Misty and Nickel Creek as supporting acts.

Saxophonist Bryan Beninghove to host Tuesday night series at downtown Jersey City Brewery

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Departed Soles, a downtown Jersey City-based brewery and Riverview Jazz, the non-profit producer of the Jersey City Jazz Festival have partnered to present a weekly music residency with "Bryan Beninghove & Friends". The series will take place Tuesday evenings 7:00pm-10:00pm beginning March 5 and will be free to the public.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.

"Yeah, the idea started early last year," enthusiastically stated guitarist Adrian Vandenberg as he discussed his upcoming "My Whitesnake Years" tour, a conglomeration of hits from some of the most revered classic rock acts of all time. "Last year it was 35 years ago when Whitesnake headlined the legendary Donington Festival in England. So, we thought it would be a good thing to celebrate that anniversary and do a "My Whitesnake Years" tour and when we were done, people from all over the world began asking if we'd be willing to do a run here or there and we went to Scandinavia, Spain and there is actually more stuff in the pipeline for next year also and of course now to the United States and it has been a lot of fun so far."
