The Growing Stage Kicks Off The Holidays With "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer"

(NETCONG, NJ) -- The Growing Stage: The Children's Theatre of New Jersey is thrilled to bring back the holiday classic, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer with performances weekends from December 6-22, 2024. Based on the animated television special "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" (adapted from a story by Robert L. May and the song by Johnny Marks) and the stage production directed and conceived by Jeff Frank and First Stage with scenic/puppet by Brandon Kirkham. It has a Script Adaptation by Robert Penola and Music and Lyrics by Johnny Marks.

With his previous feature, 2019's La Llorona, Guatemalan writer/director Jayro Bustamente employed the titular Latin-American folk legend to examine a dark chapter in his country's history - the "Silent Holocaust", a decades long genocide of the nation's Mayan people. With Rita he similarly employs dark fantasy elements to highlight a shameful event in Guatemala's more recent past.

Lewis Center for the Arts' Princeton Atelier presents an early developmental workshop of "Custom of the Coast"

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Lewis Center for the Arts' Princeton Atelier will present an early developmental workshop of a section of Custom of the Coast, a new small-scale opera written by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon and award-winning experimental music/contemporary opera composer Kamala Sankaram. The event begins at 4:30pm on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Berlind Rehearsal Room at McCarter Theatre Center, 91 University Place. The program will also include an excerpt of a small-scale opera by Princeton Ph.D. candidate Hope Littwin. The event is free and open to the public; no tickets are required.








Rockland Youth Dance Ensemble presents "The Nutcracker"

"Slanted Floors" returns to its Greenpoint Apartment

(NEW YORK, NY) -- Following critical acclaim and sold-out performances, Slanted Floors — hailed by the Daily Beast as "one of New York's most unique and exclusive pieces of theatre" — returns for a strictly limited five-week engagement in its original Greenpoint apartment setting. Performances will run May 26 through June 26, 2026, with 150 seats available.

Arden Theatre Company presents "Dear Evan Hansen"

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Arden Theatre Company brings the Tony Award-winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen, to the F. Otto Haas Stage this spring. Featuring a book by Steven Levenson and music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the production is directed by Terrence J. Nolen and co-conceived by Jorge Cousineau and Nolen. Performances begin May 21, the show opens May 27, and runs through July 5, 2026.

Paper Mill Playhouse presents "West Side Story"

(MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse presents West Side Story, the final production of Paper Mill's 2025-2026 season, from May 28 through June 28, 2026. An enduring masterpiece based on a conception of Jerome Robbins, West Side Story reimagines Romeo and Juliet in 1950s New York, where young lovers Tony and Maria dare to dream of a future together as rival gangs the Jets and the Sharks clash for control of the streets.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August.
