Saxophonist/Educator Julius Tolentino to perform with Former Students at January Jersey Jazz LIVE!

(MADISON, NJ) -- Alto saxophonist/educator Julius Tolentino received a Lifetime Achievement Award for Jazz Education from DownBeat Magazine in 2024, the same year his Newark Academy jazz band, Chameleon, won first place in Jazz at Lincoln Center's Essentially Ellington competition. Tolentino is in his 19th year as NA's Jazz Director, and this year he has the added responsibility of Arts Department Chair, overseeing an Arts program that also encompasses theater, dance, and visual art.



Morris Choral Society Announces Spring Concert and Calls For New Singers

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- The acclaimed Morris Choral Society (MCS), announced its Spring concert and called for singers to join the ensemble in 2026. MCS performs all forms of choral music from the familiar such as Handel's Hallelujah Chorus and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana to the exciting material of John Rutter or the popular PDQ Bach. The Spring program, which will be held on Saturday, May 16, at St. Mary's Abbey at Delbarton in Morris Township, will feature Brahn's Requiem in the original German and will be conducted by Michael Wittenburg.

Nutley Little Theatre to Hold Auditions for "True West" by Sam Shepard

(NUTLEY, NJ) -- Nutley Little Theatre will hold auditions for True West on Sunday, January 11 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. This American classic by Sam Shepard was nominated for the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The production will be directed by John Fraissinet.

Arden Theatre Company presents "Dear Evan Hansen"

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Arden Theatre Company brings the Tony Award-winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen, to the F. Otto Haas Stage this spring. Featuring a book by Steven Levenson and music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the production is directed by Terrence J. Nolen and co-conceived by Jorge Cousineau and Nolen. Performances begin May 21, the show opens May 27, and runs through July 5, 2026.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.
