REVIEW: Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats at The Stone Pony

by Jennifer Petrics
published 2022-07-04

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats rocked the Stone Pony in Asbury Park for a sold out show this 4th of July weekend.  The Future Tour, in support of their third studio album, kicked off in May and runs through late September.  As the rain held out, the sky broke into glorious shades of reds and blues, when the band took the stage.  Rateliff and the band were in fantastic form— never losing their octane-level energy— or raw and powerful vocals.  With a worldly fusion of blues, rock, folk, and soul (not unlike Van Morrison who they’ve covered in the documentary The Last Waltz), they were their own force of nature— rocking the house from start to finish.  From the soft horn timbres of songs like You Worry Me and Face Down in the Moment…  building up to the raucous, bone shattering tracks like S.O.B., The Night Sweats covered it all.

Music Mountain Theatre presents "In the Heights"

(LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- In the Heights will open at Music Mountain Theatre on Friday, July 9 and run weekends through July 24. Conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda, In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood - a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind.

Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites... 07/30/2026

"Yeah, the idea started early last year," enthusiastically stated guitarist Adrian Vandenberg as he discussed his upcoming "My Whitesnake Years" tour, a conglomeration of hits from some of the most revered classic rock acts of all time. "Last year it was 35 years ago when Whitesnake headlined the legendary Donington Festival in England. So, we thought it would be a good thing to celebrate that anniversary and do a "My Whitesnake Years" tour and when we were done, people from all over the world began asking if we'd be willing to do a run here or there and we went to Scandinavia, Spain and there is actually more stuff in the pipeline for next year also and of course now to the United States and it has been a lot of fun so far."
