City of Newark reopens JFK Recreation Center

(NEWARK, NJ) -- On September 12, 2022, the City of Newark reopened JFK Recreation Center, after it received its first renovation since the 1980s. The center is located at 211 West Kinney Street in the city's Central Ward, with the entrance on Howard Street.



Salute to Women in the Arts presents "Favorites" at Riverside Gallery

(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- Salute To Women In the Arts is presenting an inclusive art exhibition at Riverside Gallery in Hackensack.  Thirty seven women artists will be showing a varied collection of their artwork. There will be sixty artworks including works on paper, oil and acrylic paintings, sculpture and mixed media.  “Favorites” at the Riverside Gallery will be on exhibit from September 13-29, 2022



Music Mountain Theatre presents "Thoroughly Modern Millie"

(LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre revisits the wild and wooly Roaring 20s when Thoroughly Modern Millie comes to the stage for a four-weekend run opening on September 16th and running through October 9th.  Set in New York City in 1922, Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of young Millie Dillmount from Kansas, who comes to New York in search of a new life for herself.



NJ Festival Orchestra to Present Outdoor Concert in Westfield on October 1st

(WESTFIELD, NJ) -- The New Jersey Festival Orchestra is back on October 1st with another outdoor concert in Westfield featuring music by Gershwin, Copland and more, and a special appearance by NY Metropolitan Opera’s renowned baritone Stephen Gaertner.

The New Jersey Hall of Fame is full of legendary musicians from Count Basie to Bruce Springsteen, but there’s one name that’s missing - Walter Trout. He’s a guy who was born in Jersey and lived the first 23 years of his life here.  He learned how to play the guitar and fell in love with the blues while living in the Garden State.  His guitar has taken him around the world, but he still writes songs about his old hometown.

Prudential Center presents Trans-Siberian Orchestra

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Multi-platinum, progressive rock group Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) - has announced the dates for its 2022 winter tour, The Ghosts of Christmas Eve – the Best of TSO & More presented by Hallmark Channel. After its first year off the road in more than two decades, TSO made a triumphant return to touring in 2021 with a 25th anniversary celebration of Christmas Eve and Other Stories. For 2022, TSO brings a completely updated presentation of the unforgettable, multi-generational holiday tradition, “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve,” to 60 cities across the nation. Metamorphic Concerts welcomes TSO when they return to Prudential Center for two spectacular shows on Tuesday, December 27 at 3:00pm and 7:30pm.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.

"Last year it was 35 years ago when Whitesnake headlined the legendary Donington Festival in England. So, we thought it would be a good thing to celebrate that anniversary and do a "My Whitesnake Years" tour and when we were done, people from all over the world began asking if we'd be willing to do a run here or there and we went to Scandinavia, Spain and there is actually more stuff in the pipeline for next year also and of course now to the United States and it has been a lot of fun so far."
