Seton Hall University to Present Robin Roberts With Lifetime Professional Achievement Award

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- Robin Roberts, who has connected with athletes, entertainers, fans, and viewers for decades – first at ESPN and for the last 20 years on “Good Morning America” – will be honored with a Lifetime Professional Achievement Award by the new Seton Hall University Center for Sports Media at a special gala on September 15 at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City.



Visual Arts Center of New Jersey presents Fall Exhibition: "Ripple Effect"

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- On Friday, September 16, 2022, the Visual Art Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) will begin a year-long celebration of its 90th Anniversary by opening its fall exhibition, Ripple Effect. Incoming Students Get an Early Start to College Experience at Ramapo College EOF Summer Studies Institute

(MAHWAH, NJ) -- For the first time since 2019, students gathered in person on the Ramapo College campus for the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Summer Studies Institute. The Institute is a five-week program where highly motivated incoming first-year students who exhibit the potential for success, and who come from families/communities disadvantaged by low income and/or a lack of access to quality educational preparation necessary to attend college, receive an immersive introduction to the college experience.

Comedy Benefit Show for The Showroom on September 13th

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Ugly Pancake Productions hosts a Benefit Comedy Show for The Showroom in Asbury Park on Tuesday September 13, 2022 at 7:30pm. The benefit is to help them defray some of the unanticipated operating costs they have encountered since reopening. (TEANECK, NJ) -- The award-winning PBS documentary series, INDEPENDENT LENS, presents the launch of the upcoming season of Indie Lens Pop-Up in partnership with the Teaneck International Film Festival and the Puffin Cultural Forum. The second episode of Lighty’s Corner is live! This is a bi-weekly recorded radio show presenting new rock music from around the globe. Each of the 15 new tracks played were received via email within the last two weeks - a practice I hope to continue each time.




"She's Like the Wind"

The first thing you'll see upon entering the gallery at Deep Space (77 Cornelison St.) is the shadow-outline of a woman's leg. There it is, on a chartreuse background, sticking straight up in the air with a curvaceous bare foot inches from the ceiling. That's all of the subject of "Lemon Lime Toe of God" that the oil painter Delilah Ray Miske is willing to show us. The rest of the body, she implies, is splayed out on a bed. We know it's summer because the window is closed and the air conditioner is plugged in. There's a pretty good chance that the possessor of the leg is undressed. In one hand, she holds a cellphone, and she might be broadcasting something. On the wall, a small whip-like broomstick hangs. It could be the ride of a tiny witch. It could be the professional tool of a dominatrix.
