Arts Ed NJ Launches Two-Part Course to Provide Self-paced Professional Learning Solution for NJ Arts Educators

(BURLINGTON, NJ) -- On April 27, 2023, Arts Ed NJ expanded its professional learning opportunities. With the launch of a new On-Demand Learning Hub, Arts Ed NJ continues to support high-quality professional learning in the field, as it has for almost 20 years. With the release of this self-paced, asynchronous course, arts educators throughout the state now have an opportunity to participate in an online learning community with other arts educators and supervisors of the arts.



Jersey City Mayor Fulop Awards $1 Million to 88 Artists & Arts Organizations with Historic 2nd Round of Arts & Culture Grants

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Jersey City Mayor Steven M. Fulop joined City Council members and the Jersey City Arts and Culture Trust Fund Committee to award a historic $1 million in critical grants to support 88 artists, educational arts programs, and arts organizations that expand the impact and inclusiveness of the arts in Jersey City, build community connections through art, and develop creative and economic opportunities for artists. Of the grants awarded, 68 are for arts programs and organizations, with an average award of over $14,000. The remaining 20 fellowship grants will provide individual artists with $5,000 each.

RVCC's Nota Bene Event Showcases Outstanding Student Work

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College recognized the creativity and ingenuity of its students at the annual Note Bene awards ceremony, held April 19 at RVCC's Welpe Theatre. "She's Like the Wind"

The first thing you'll see upon entering the gallery at Deep Space (77 Cornelison St.) is the shadow-outline of a woman's leg. There it is, on a chartreuse background, sticking straight up in the air with a curvaceous bare foot inches from the ceiling. That's all of the subject of "Lemon Lime Toe of God" that the oil painter Delilah Ray Miske is willing to show us. The rest of the body, she implies, is splayed out on a bed. We know it's summer because the window is closed and the air conditioner is plugged in. There's a pretty good chance that the possessor of the leg is undressed. In one hand, she holds a cellphone, and she might be broadcasting something. On the wall, a small whip-like broomstick hangs. It could be the ride of a tiny witch. It could be the professional tool of a dominatrix.
