(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- Light Opera of New Jersey continues its 27th Season of operetta and musical theatre with a production of 2014 Tony award-winning A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder at South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC). The play is based on the 1907 novel Israel Rank: The Autobiography of a Criminal by Roy Horniman. Performances take place July 15-16 and July 22-23. Triple Threat Workshop presents Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" at The Levoy Theatre

(MILLVILLE, NJ) -- Triple Threat Workshop presents Disney's Beauty and the Beast July 21-23, 2023 at The Levoy Theatre, directed by Caitlin Geisser. This is the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress.



DRIFTHOUSE by David Burke presents Black Dog, Led Zeppelin Tribute Band

(SEA BRIGHT, NJ) -- On Wednesday, July 26, 2023 there’s going to be a whole lotta love and a whole lotta of rock and roll at DRIFTHOUSE by David Burke with Black Dog, NJ's #1 Led Zeppelin tribute band. Doors open at 7:00pm and the show starts at 8:30pm. Tickets are $10 and include the show and complimentary passed hors d'oeuvres. (Al a carte dinner service from 4:00pm-7:30pm)



Center Players to Present "A Black and White Cookie"

(FREEHOLD, NJ) -- Center Players will conclude its successful 2022-23 season with a Signature Series production of A Black and White Cookie, an insightful new play by playwright/novelist Gary Morgenstein. The comedic drama will run August 11-27, 2023 at Center Playhouse at 35 South Street in downtown Freehold, NJ.








Monmouth County Park System presents a Tribute to the 70s with The Discoteks

(LINCROFT, NJ) -- The Monmouth County Park System will present a Tribute to the 70s with The Discoteks at the Thompson Park Theater Barn, 805 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 7:00pm-8:30pm. Dance the night away as this dynamic band performs hits from the golden era of seventies' disco and best of Motown. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, food and soft drinks. The concert is outdoors but will move inside the Theater Barn if the weather is inclement.



Theater to Go announces 2023-24 Season

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- Theater to Go has announced their 2023-24 season at the Kelsey Theatre at Mercer County Community College. They will present three works in a season that salutes New Jersey playwrights. Plays include Roebling: the Story of the Brooklyn Bridge by Mark Violi; A Lovesong for Miss Lydia by Don Evans; and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change by Joe DiPietro.



Clinton Hill Community Action celebrates success of Jazz in the Street

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Clinton Hill Community Action (CHCA) hosted Jazz in the Street this last Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 30 Demarest Street in Newark's Clinton Hill neighborhood as part of their artsXchange series with New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC).



Visual Artists Wanted for "Barrels O'Art" in Hackensack

(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation's ArtsBergen has announced a call for ten visual artists and/or artist teams to design and paint murals on ten rain barrels in the City of Hackensack. Each rain barrel serves as a canvas for a painted mural. The selected artists paint themes on the barrels compiled from a survey distributed earlier to residents of Hackensack. Examples of those themes include animals, fantasy, architecture, cultural diversity, environmental protection, education, sports/athletics and the City of Hackensack in the future.

(RED BANK, NJ) -- The Vogel presents Jake Shimabukuro on Tuesday, October 3 at 7:30pm. Over the past two decades, Jake Shimabukuro has proved that there isn't a style of music that he can't play. While versatility for any musician is impressive, what's remarkable about Shimabukuro's transcendent skills is how he explores his seemingly limitless vocabulary – whether it's jazz, rock, blues, bluegrass, folk or even classical – on perhaps the unlikeliest of instruments: the 'ukulele.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

Princeton Summer Theater presents "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown"

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton Summer Theater's 2026 Children's Show is You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, which runs weekends from June 20 to August 1, 2026. A beloved musical since its premiere in 1967, Clark Gesner brings Charles M. Schulz's "PEANUTS" characters to the stage. The musical ventures through the highs and lows of young life, from baseball and homework to young love and friendship. With an empathetic and whimsical eye, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown reminds us of the importance of connection and joy.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.

Loss, we've all suffered it. Some of us more than others,some less and still yet there are those of us who've not had loss of any significance to this point. Loss, like anything else, is directly related to perspective. What may seem like a huge loss to one, is insignificant to another. People pass away, bad days do the same, they fade into the night or disappear at the bottom of one's favorite drink until they are swept away by the morning's sunrise and things are new. Some loss stays a bit longer, adding scars to our bodies until they become topographical maps of memories; reminders of what not to do or what we didn't do or should've done.
