The Princeton Festival presents "The Barber of Seville" and Performance by Will Liverman

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- At the Princeton Festival on June 16, 18, and 20, opera newbies and aficionados alike will relish an all-new production of Gioachino Rossini's comedic showpiece The Barber of Seville. Rossini's opera, with libretto by Cesare Sterbini, premiered in Rome, Italy in 1816, and has since become one of the most frequently performed operas worldwide. An opera buffa masterpiece, The Barber of Seville offers superbly comical situations with elaborate disguises, outrageous bribery, close shaves, and captivating characters. Performances take place at the Festival’s outdoor performance pavilion on the grounds of Morven Museum & Garden.



First Fridays In Downtown Trenton for 2023

Film Adaptation of Off-Broadway "Frankenstein" Musical Begins to Stream

Producers John Lant and Tamra Pica have announced that a film adaptation of their Off-Broadway hit musical, Frankenstein, by New Jersey-based composer/playwright Eric B. Sirota, has been released and available to stream on StreamingMusicals.com. It was recently re-imagined for the screen in what is an exciting new hybrid between a stage performance and a movie musical, with an expanded and orchestrated score.



New Jersey Symphony to Perform Free Outdoor Concert at Ocean County College

(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Ocean County College welcomes back a summer tradition with an outdoor concert performed by the New Jersey Symphony on Tuesday, June 27 at 8:00pm on OCC's main campus in Toms River. The family-friendly program, sponsored by the Ocean County College Foundation, is open to the public; admission and parking are free of charge.

Amazing dance film Circle will be shown at the 2023 New Jersey International Film Festival on Sunday, June 4!

Phillip Kaminiak’s dance film Circle will be shown at the 2023 New Jersey International Film Festival on June 4, 2023, in person at 5 p.m. and online for 24 hours as a part of the festival’s Shorts Program #2. Circle is “an analogy between the modern human being, living in mass cities, and the phenomenon of the circle of death.”



Events at MPAC in July 2023

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) presents a terrific lineup of events this July at the theatre as well as throughout Morristown. MPAC's summer concert series kicks off on July 11 with The Doobie Brothers. (TEANECK, NJ) -- The award-winning PBS documentary series, INDEPENDENT LENS, presents the launch of the upcoming season of Indie Lens Pop-Up in partnership with the Teaneck International Film Festival and the Puffin Cultural Forum. The season kicks-off on February 4, 2026 with The Librarians and continues through May. The series is free for all but sign up is required.

"She's Like the Wind"

The first thing you'll see upon entering the gallery at Deep Space (77 Cornelison St.) is the shadow-outline of a woman's leg. There it is, on a chartreuse background, sticking straight up in the air with a curvaceous bare foot inches from the ceiling. That's all of the subject of "Lemon Lime Toe of God" that the oil painter Delilah Ray Miske is willing to show us. The rest of the body, she implies, is splayed out on a bed. We know it's summer because the window is closed and the air conditioner is plugged in. There's a pretty good chance that the possessor of the leg is undressed. In one hand, she holds a cellphone, and she might be broadcasting something. On the wall, a small whip-like broomstick hangs. It could be the ride of a tiny witch. It could be the professional tool of a dominatrix.
