(LAKEWOOD, NJ) -- The 2023 NJACT Perry Awards ceremony was held at the Strand Center for the Arts in Lakewood on Sunday, October 1st. The NJACT Perry Awards are given for outstanding achievements in New Jersey Community Theater. The awards are named in honor of William Perry Morgan. Perry, as his friends have always known him, was a gifted director, actor, composer, and musician who was once a driving force in New Jersey Community Theater.
(WOODBRIDGE, NJ) -- The Barron Arts Center hosts the "BAC Artist of the Year" Exhibit - Jules Weber: Color My World - from October 4-25, 2023. A self-taught artist with decades of experience, Jules Weber uses various palette knife techniques to layer oil paints on canvas to create rich, realistic and colorful scenes.

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Art House Productions presents "Connections," from October 7-28, 2023. This group exhibition will be part of the 34th annual Jersey City Art & Studio Tour (JCAST). The exhibition presents nine artists' visual interpretations of the bonds we build. Participating artists: Beth Achenbach, Cheryl Gross, Troy Jones, HakChul Kim, Ceallaigh Pender, Jennifer Morris, ONHEL, Lucy Rovetto, and Ann Vollum.

The Gaslight Anthem have released their latest single, "Autumn." The song drifts into a contemplative mood as the band share a deeply felt meditation on impermanence, set against a lovely backdrop of luminous harmonies and oceanic guitar work. "Autumn" heralds The Gaslight Anthem's first new album together in almost a decade, History Books, arriving Friday, October 27 on their own Rich Mahogany Recordings label via Thirty Tigers.

The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

A beloved musical since its premiere in 1967, Clark Gesner brings Charles M. Schulz's "PEANUTS" characters to the stage. The musical ventures through the highs and lows of young life, from baseball and homework to young love and friendship. With an empathetic and whimsical eye, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown reminds us of the importance of connection and joy.
(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.

Frank Hanavan's Hoboken is wet. In his streetscapes, surfaces glisten. The sky is rarely glowering, but it does seem full; ready to have something to say, or wrapping up something that it is busy saying. The canopy of foliage that hangs over the streetcorners feels saturated with moisture. Even the shadows on the sidewalk are puddle blue. Businesses have their umbrellas open. A few people do, too.
