SOMA Backstage Reading Series at SOPAC to Showcase New Musicals and Plays by SOMA-Based Creatives

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- Situated in what The New York Times calls the town "where Broadway comes home to sleep," the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) announces the inaugural weekend of the SOMA backStage Reading Series, a partnership with local theater company SOMA Stage. On Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4, SOMA Stage will present readings of new plays and musicals written by or starring South Orange and Maplewood's theater professionals in the Loft at SOPAC.



George Street Playhouse presents An Evening with Artist and Activist Maulik Pancholy

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- George Street Playhouse (GSP) announces a very special event with internationally known artist and activist, Maulik Pancholy on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Admission to this event is complimentary. Hosted by George Street Playhouse's Artistic Director, David Saint, the evening will take place at the Metuchen Golf and Country Club in Edison, NJ. The event begins at 6:00pm.



RVCC to Present Lecture Focusing on Power of Language to Change the World

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College's Humanities, Social Sciences, Social Work, and Education (HSSE) department will present a lecture and discussion with Dr. Jamila Lyiscott on Tuesday, April 4 at 4:00pm. Dr. Lyiscott will speak on the topic of "Liberation Literacies Pedagogy: Unleashing the power of language to change the world."



The Cathedral Arts Series at Trinity presents Mezzo Soprano Elyse Langley

(TRENTON, NJ) -- The Cathedral Arts Series at Trinity (CAST ) and On Demand Programs and Events! are proud to partner in presenting Mezzo Soprano Elyse Langley in a multi-media presentation in honor of Women's History Month entitled, Let It Begin with Me: A Musical Celebration of Women, on Sunday, March 26 at 2:00pm. Admission is free; a free will offering will be gratefully accepted. Trinity Cathedral is located at 801 West State Street in Trenton.
