(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- On Thursday, August 29th, the Wonder Bar is hosting one of the last Asbury Jams Concert of the Summer season, presented by Nectar's Live: Jackson Pines and Hunter Root at the legendary seaside venue.

Jackson Pines are best friends who grew up playing folk and rock’n’roll music in their hometown. They have recently been featured in their own PBS documentary as well as on NPR Music.  This is the only Asbury Park stop on Jackson Pines Northeast Tour, which has brought them through Quebec, NY, PA, DE, NJ recently.

Fresh off releasing Pine Barrens Volume Two and their new singles “Julie Jane” and “Control Burn”, as well as playing at the 61st Philadelphia Folk Festival last week, the band has been turning out energizing sets featuring their original songs as well as 100 year old Piney folk songs they’ve learned from the woods they grew up in. Billboard magazine describes them as a “mash-up of James Taylor and Tom Petty — with a serious focus on acoustic guitar.”

Hunter Root is coming off a successful run, and viral video success. He has been playing music since he was twelve years old. He is a founding member of the Lancaster, PA-based psychedelic rock band, Medusa's Disco, and has a solo project as well. Hunter went viral in early 2023 on Instagram, Tiktok, and Facebook after releasing his single “Town Rat Heathen”.  Gigging tenaciously and recording numerous self produced albums won hunter “Best Male Solo Artist (2020)” and “Best Songwriter (2022)” at the Central Pennsylvania Music Awards. He’s also performed on live television, being featured on the show “Good Day PA” on ABC27 news.

Tickets are $10 and available for purchase online and at the door. The Wonder Bar is located at 1213 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Doors at 7:00pm, showtime is 8:00pm. The show is open to 21 and older.
