The Newton Theatre presents Big Apple Comedy Club #54

(NEWTON, NJ) -- Big Apple Comedy Club #54 takes place at The Newton Theatre on Friday, March 15, 2024.  The lineup includes Rich Aronovitch, Robin Fox, Joe Larson, and Ruperto Vanderpool.  Doors are at 7:00pm, showtime is 8:00pm.

Rich Aronovitch, is best known for his appearances on Gotham Comedy Live on AXS, The Food Network’s Beat Bobby Flay, HBO’s Bomani Jones, NBC's Last Comic Standing and The WE Network Three Men and a Chick Flick. Aronovitch is a regular at New York City’s best clubs including The Comedy Cellar and Gotham Comedy Club. He gained social media fame for his dances, which led to features on NBC's Access Daily and a Tiesto music video, performances with Limp Bizkit at Madison Square Garden, and for The New York Islanders. Recently, he featured on TNT's March Madness Sweet Sixteen Pre-Game Promo and The Food Network’s Worst Cooks In America Season 25.

Robin Fox spent 17 years as a New Jersey stay-at-home mom.This “Real Housewife” was the funniest lady at the PTO and bus stop but one day decided to move her act to the comedy stage and has audiences roaring ever since. She can be seen at regularly at Gotham Comedy Club and Broadway Comedy Club. Robin is the Grand Prize Winner of the 11th Annual Gilda’s Club Laugh- off, host of the Lucie Awards at Lincoln Center and was a finalist at several prestigious comedy contests and festivals including The Bud Light “Ladies of Laughter.” She also has been seen at the NJ Comedy Festival and at The NY Underground Comedy Festival. Robin can be heard on SiriusXm Satellite Radio and has been a guest numerous times on the “Joey Reynolds Show” on WOR coast to coast. On Television, Robin appeared twice on NickMom’s Standup Series “Nickmom Night Out!” Robin has been on We Entertainment television and on Lifetime TV. Robin was a “Hot Topic” of Conversation on ABC’s “The View.”

Joe Larson started comedy at an early age and has always had a knack for making light of any situation. At 20 he really began to seriously pursue stand-up, comedy acting and improv as a potential career when he was chosen “College Comedian of the Year” at The Las Vegas Comedy Festival. Then the Seattle born and raised Comedian decided he didn’t have enough traffic, smog, and pastrami in his life so he moved to New York City. Working the comedy circuit on the East Coast, Larson found early success. He was nominated “Best Up-And-Coming Comedian” at the NYC MAC Awards, and was a finalist in both the prestigious Johnny Carson Great American Comedy Festival and the Boston Comedy Festival. His popular blog, “Man with A Baby” is read and enjoyed by many, and online sketch comedy pieces with “Grandma’s Favorite” are a Youtube favorite. If you haven’t see him killing it on stage, you might have heard Joe on the nationally syndicated “The Bob & Tom Show”... or seen him in television appearances on “Laughs” on FOX, Gotham Comedy Live and on The Speed Channel. He’s even had the time to fit in an appearance on the film, “Stand-Up 360” and film his first Dry Bar Comedy Special, Joe Larson: Champion. From a colleges to comedy clubs, Joe has been funny everywhere. And he will do his damnedest to continue entertaining the masses.

Comedian-Actor Ruperto Vanderpool is on the cusp of greatness. Just getting off the run of the award winning Off-Broadway Hit "La Barberia," the native New Yorker of Dominican extraction is a natural come- dian with an international appeal and flair. As a stand-up comedian, the bois- terous Ruperto has appeared on Martin Lawrence Presents The 1st Amendment Stand Up on The STARZ Network, BET's Comic View, It's ShowTime at the Apollo, Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen, SiTV's Latino 101 and was personally selected by P. Diddy to be the only Hispanic to perform for HBO Bad Boys of Comedy Season 2. His film credits include: co-starring with Queen Latifah in the Lions Gate Film The Cookout, Carlitoʼs Way (Rise to Power) and a memorable role in the Latino cult-classic EL Vacilon: The Movie. Ruperto also won the 1st Annual American Latino Award for "Favorite American Latino Comedian" and was the Recipient of the "El Awards" from El Diario La Prensa.

The Newton Theatre is located at 234 Spring Street in Newton, New Jersey. The historic theatre was founded in 1924. It is a beautifully restored 605 seat performing arts center in the heart of Sussex County, presenting diverse programming, including world-renowned music acts, comedians, family productions, holiday shows and much more.
