The Adelphi Orchestra presents Symphonic Voyages

(FAIR LAWN, NJ) -- The Adelphi Orchestra continues its 69th Season of "Music for All" with "Symphonic Voyages" on March 18th & 19th. The concert is under the baton of maestro Jason Tramm and features cello virtuoso Bethany Bobbs, (A prize winner of the 2022 Adelphi Orchestra Competition) in Dvorak's Concerto for Cello in B minor.  Also on the program is Rossini's La Cenerentola Overture and Mendelssohn's Symphony no 3 in A minor, Op. 56 "Scottish".

On Saturday, March 18th, the concert will be performed at Broadway Presbyterian Church, NYC; showtime is 2:00pm.  On Sunday, March 19th, the concert will be performed at the Fair Lawn Community Theater in Fair Lawn, NJ; showtime is 2:00pm.

Bethany Bobbs is a cellist at The Juilliard School, where she studies with Joel Krosnick and Astrid Schween. She attends Juilliard with a full-scholarship awarded by the Jerome L. Greene Fellowship. She has attended the Perlman Music Program and PMP Suncoast since 2017 where she studied with Clara Kim, Paul Katz, and Zvi Plesser.  Bethany has won numerous prizes, including winner of the Lynn Harrell Competition, LISMA International Competition, Houston Symphony Concerto Competition, and an award at the National YoungArts Competition. Already a seasoned soloist, she has performed with orchestras such as the Missouri Symphony Orchestra, Newark Symphony, Houston Symphony, Georgia Philharmonic, Yonkers Philharmonic Symphony, Delaware Symphony, Ocala Symphony, among many others. Bethany is currently a Jupiter Symphony Chamber Player, where she performs each month alongside musicians such as Paul Neubauer, Stella Chen, and Stefan Jackiw. Besides performing, Bethany has been recognized by The Strad and The ViolinChannel for using her musical talent to help others. In 2020, Bethany and her twin sister, Susanna, founded a non-profit organization known as Harmony for Healing which has provided financial aid to unemployed artists struggling during COVID-19 and Ukrainian refugees in need of medical supplies and humanitarian aid. Bethany is a recipient of the Arkady Fomin Scholarship Fund and NFMC Michael Edwards Award.

The March 19th concert has been made possible in part by a grant administered by the Bergen County Department of Parks, Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs from funds granted by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and co-sponsored by the borough of Fair Lawn.  The orchestra is offering their audiences a Livestream on March 18th in addition to their in-person audience experience. The Adelphi Orchestra is a professional, non-profit orchestra performing symphonic, chamber, operatic, choral, and dance concerts. For the past 19 years, the Adelphi Orchestra has sponsored a Young Artist Competition and Young Artist Concerts throughout New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area. The Adelphi Orchestra presents concerts with accomplished national and international guest soloists and distinguished conductors. Nominated by its peers for the past 6 years in the Jersey Arts People's Choice Award in the Favorite Orchestra/Symphony Division, the Adelphi Orchestra is a member of the Chamber Music America and Opera America.
